Hello my beloved friends!
Here is an adaptation taken from a trend on woodworking groups and which will be sure to make your neighbors a little paranoid!
I instantly loved the idea, and decided to adapt it to 3d printing! So here comes my dear friends the birdhouse security camera!
This birdhouse is super simple to make.
Like most of my birdhouses:
-The project does not require any support.
-All parts are placed in the correct orientation for printing.
-Only 3 colors are required.
-Parts are easy to print
-A Bambulab project file is also included.
For the moment, it prints on all printers with a 220x220mm bed. However, I am working on the version for Mini owners, so that everyone can benefit from it.
You will need the following hardware for assembly:
-(6x) m3 x 6mm
-(1x) m3 x 16mm
-(4x) m4 x 24mm
IMPORTANT NOTE: The following hardware can be used as a substitution; The m3 x 6mm screws can be replaced with 10 or 12mm lengths if you don't have 6mm on hand. They will not protrude inside the cabin but will take longer to screw.
The 24mm long m4 screws can be replaced with m4 x 12mm (like other bird houses) for the support if you don't use the support spacer. You will understand better by looking at the instructions and where the screws are located.
FOR THE SUPPORT: Use at least 7 walls and 25% infill to have a strong and sturdy support! Add a few tops and bottoms too, this will help a lot.
In the bambulab project file, those settings are already set (by objects) so you don't need to change them.
The only multicolor part (the front trim with the text) can be done on any conventional printer. Just make a simple color change at the right height to have the screws and the text printed in black.
In any case, if you are experiencing some problems, feel free to send me a private message and i will help you as much as i can like i always do!
Have fun my friends! Hope you like it! :)

Note: I am giving you the filaments list, but i used some PLA on mine and i know many of you prefers ABS or ASA. So its only a reference. For those who wonder if PLA will be good for outdoor application, remember that birdhouses shall never be put in direct sun (birds won't use it in direct sun) and must always be installed in a shady area. So for my personal usage and with a good UV coating, i had excellent results with good quality PLA and PLA+.
Filaments used for this project:
WHITE: Spectrum Filaments - Polar White
BLACK: 3DPrintingCanada - House brand Black
GREY: 3DPrintingCanada - House brand Silver
