Hello dear friends!

So here it is, the bird house I told you about yesterday!

As I mentioned before, a joke between me and a friend of mine started this design. However, I must admit in the end that I find her very likeable despite her simple and cartoon look. And since yesterday, it has been a constant topic of discussion for people who have seen it!

Like all my birdhouses, it is very easy to print and does not require any support on any part.

It is also printable in a mini format. The entire project is designed to be printed on a Prusa mini or Bambu Lab A1 Mini type printer. So rest assured, even the smallest printers will be able to print it! You will just need to rotate the "front section" piece a little on your bed to be able to fit it. The project is also scalable if you want. Just take in consideration that you will need bigger screws. A nice scaling ratio is 1.33. With this ratio you will need m4 screws instead of m3 screws.

Due to its particular shape, it comes with a new type of support to install it. There are specific instructions for this step in the instruction folder.

Good bridge settings will be necessary for one part in particular: the head. If your printer has difficulty with bridges, place supports in the rear recess of the head.

As for the legs, be careful because as long as they are not glued they are a little fragile. I dropped a pair on the ground yesterday by accident and they broke right on the bridge in the center.

There are two pieces that require color changes. The eyes and the face. This can be done with any printer. If you are not familiar with color changes during printing, send me a private message and I will give you some interesting links to help you.

A funny fact to note: She can stand up on her own. Which, if you wish, can give you other pretty funny applications such as (for example) becoming a suggestion box or a complaints box!

Finally, in terms of hardware, you will need screws (7x) M3 x 10mm for assembly.

I think I covered everything that had to be said!

If you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

Have fun my friends! Hope you like it!!! lol

Hi Kelly! Did you solve the problem?

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot my friend! 😂😁

One thing you have to keep in mind, especially if you want birds in your birdhouse, is that birdhouses shall never be placed in direct sun. Always in a shady area, because birds don't like hot places. The best orientation is in a shady area with the entrance facing a north- north/east direction. :) So Pla+ can do the job if protected correctly. If you are not sure, go with PETG or ASA.

its okay now but all day yesterday it was doing it ,

I absolutely love this. I am a big fan of Pascal's birdhouses (I've printed almost all of them). This is a fantastic addition to the collection. I do however have some observations. I'm a Bambu user and I had a lot of trouble printing the tail, multiple failed attempts - there is very little contact with the bed at one end of the piece, which constantly lifted and ruined the rest of the print. Printing with a brim completely resolved this issue. While I understand the need to ensure users of the smaller Bambu printers can print this, I am not a fan of dovetailed, glued joints. I have managed to fuse the front section and the tail together and print as one print on the bigger Bambu printers. The face and backplate can also be printed as one. The quality suffers a bit when combining the parts, so I was wondering whether it would be possible to supply a combined front and back section so they can be printed as one on the Bambu printers. IMHO it looks better and is stronger. Many thanks, Mike.

PA1 MAKER

Hi Mike! I didnt realize single piece parts would fit on a 256x256 bed. New files are on their way! :) I will publish later today two more files for the rear and front section without any joints. Thanks for notifying me!

Love your birdhouses and feeders. Sorry if this has been asked before but do you spray sealant of any kind on them to protect them a bit more? And one more request…have you thought about a computer related birdhouse? Thx!

Rad3D

Just joined for this and the beehive, they're awesome and so much more. Any chance for a dog (Corgi) edition in the future?

Darknynja

I just saw your question about spray sealants. I have printed well over 50 birdhouses and feeders, and I mostly use only PLA and PLA+. After assembly I will spray a UV protective spray that I purchase from my local big box store such as Lowes or Home Depot. Some of those feeders and houses have been outside for over three years in harsh cold winters and very hot humid summers with no signs of fading or warping that I can see. I would recommend looking for a clear spray that says semi-gloss or satin. The matte finishes work good too. I hope this helps.

Darknynja

I forgot to say I really liked your idea about a computer related birdhouse. I bet he could make it a really awesome feeder too. I'm picturing a classic PC with the keys removed from the keyboard and in its place a dish for bird food. That way it would look like the birds were pecking at the keyboard. 😂🤣 Now I have to have one.

This is adorable and cheeky ;)
