Ok folks, third post of the day! Sorry for spamming your email like this!

I present to you this morning what is (in my opinion) the cutest bird house I have made to date! Some are fun, others are super detailed, but this one definitely grabbed my heart in terms of cuteness.

May is the month of the bees, and this design has been requested more than once over the past year. So I decided it was the perfect time to release this design!

The project is super simple and only has a few pieces! However, there are some things you need to know:

-No supports are needed. I made the interior of the hive avoiding complex overhangs and everything printed very easily.

-The complete project is printable on a "mini" type printer and can also be printed larger. I'll tell you more about it below.

-Although multi-colored, the bees body and flower can be printed by all printers with simple color changes. If you are not familiar with color changes, simply send me a private message with the type of slicer you are using and I will be happy to send you links and tutorials.

-There are three ways to install it: With the bracket that I have been using from the beginning, with the bracket that mounts on top of a pole and also suspended by a rope. In the last case, a stabilizing ring is present on the bottom door to prevent the bird house from turning in the wind. Simply attach a second rope to it and anchor it to a fixed point such as a tree trunk etc.

-A Bambu Lab project file is included for Bambu Lab owners with settings and color changes already set. (see printing tips below)

IF YOU DECIDE TO PRINT IT LARGER:

As I did for the saloon and other birdhouses, the bottom plate (bottom door) has two types of holes underneath for the support. In its original size, the support will screw into the largest holes. If you decide to enlarge it, simply enlarge the bird house and its components by 1.33x (133%) but do not enlarge the support!!! Once scaled at 133%, the bracket will screw into the smallest holes once enlarged! So the support remains the same. No need to make it bigger. However, if you choose another ratio for the enlargement, you will have to enlarge the support to the same ratio. but at 133%, the support can remain at its original size.

Note: At 133%, the m3 screws will have to be changed for m4, and the m4 for m5.

PRINTING TIPS:

-Use at least 4 walls to have a very solid birdhouse. I use 5 most of the time, but 4 is a good compromise.

-The bodies of bees have a very small contact surface with the bed. Use a brim to help with adhesion.

-The stl files for the supports are included in the folder, but are not present in the Bambu Lab project file. For supports, it is highly recommended to print them with at least seven walls and 20% infill.

HARDWARE NEEDED:

You will need (4x) M3x8mm and (4x) M4x12mm screws.

In any case, if you have some questions, feel free to send me a private message. As usual, i will try to help you as much as i can.

Have fun my friends!!! Hope you like it!!!

Always enjoy your emails, no matter how many in a day! This bee birdhouse is so precious. I love bees 🐝 👍

Frédéric Lallement

Cute , it is 👍 I never printed any birdhouses because I fear to make something that is not ok for the birds ... Is it having stuff to bring and push air ? Is it easy to open to clean ?

Nyonic

What filament was used for this body color?

Adam Jones

This will be an instant hit!!! Awesome design!! Thanks so much for this one!!!!!

Natalie Johnson

I can feel how much you love this design yourself and it is warranted! It's absolutely adorable. Thank you! I can't wait to get this printed!

Tim Belton

Love it, amazing as always Pascal!

Paul Houston

It's only spam if it's unwanted! 😀

Jimbob

Wanting to know this as well

Jeff Robinson

Very cute! This would also be cute scaled down as a fairy house. Or slightly adapted to be a cute honey holder for the table.

Geoff Hawkins

Printed it at 133% looks amazing! Thank you 🙏🏻

Frédéric Lallement

133% .. to match specific kind of birds ? PLA / PETG ? Do you see it as safe and vented for birds ?

Geoff Hawkins

Printed 133% as it’s so nice looking I wanted it a little large. Having said that the entrance is still quite small (2in diameter) so think it’s suitable to the smaller birds like finches, tit’s robins etc. Printed PETG although in UK I’m not 100% it’s needed. It has 2 rows of vents at the back. I’m not a huge bird lover so can’t say 100% but looks like it would be safe and sound 👍🏻

Sabine Wagner

It is really so cute. But can you tell me, where I can find the black part which has to be screwed to the tree?

Printopia TX

What filament? PLA+? or using something stronger?

Darknynja

I don't know if this has been asked yet but can you, please make a bottom door that allows for rotating the house in small increments like you did for the Birds Eye View camera house? I was hoping that all future birdhouses would have that option. Or at least the ones that it would make sense to have it. Thank you Pascal.

Natalie Johnson

It's in the folder as "Rear Stand" ☺️

Mrstrikerace

Great looking stuff. Looking to print a birdhouse today. Wonderful work. Quite a talent. :-)

Nathan Obuchowski

Has anyone tried to scale these down to print as Christmas tree ornaments? I am making the full sized ones as gifts and would love to have a companion ornament to give with it.

Greg Moseley

Love this! Would it be possible to make this one (and your others) with an optional 25mm opening for the UK Small Garden birds please??

Paul Wipf

hi i was wondering if u cud make the hole to be about 1-1/4 so sparrows cant get in

Ken

if your a member why i cant download the modle so frustrating

PA1 MAKER

Hi Ken First post pinned on top of the page called "New link and password for April". All the info is there. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Have a great day. Pascal

Ken

ok thanks i found it sorry for being inpatient

Greg Moseley

I have a continuous problem with this bird house in that the overhang on the first 'bulge' always strings. the rest of them are OK though. I can't post photos here so will try in the FB group. Could you have a look to see if that overhang is greater than the others? The second overhang looks bigger to me but that always prints OK.

Muhammed Ali Yıldız

how can I adjust the bee color, if the bee color black how can ı adjust the lines of the bee as yellow

Danny Rego

Where can I find the mount? (non-fencepost mount) Like in the pictures?

Chris West

It’s in the folder titled Black - Rear Stand -C

Danny Rego

Thanks...not sure how I missed that
