Hello fantastic friends!

I am very happy today to present you this new birdhouse!

A few weeks ago, I was asked if it was possible to make models on the theme of first responders.

Ireally liked the idea! So I decided to create a first model under this theme and I decided that it would be a birdhouse.

And I must say that I am really happy with the end result! Once mounted on my tree, the effect is simply stunning! It almost looks like a real one!

One thing I have to specify up front: This is a big model!!! Approximately the same type (quantity of filament used) as the mushroom birdhouse. (Roughly 1kg) But it looks fantastic in my opinion and its totally worth it!!!

That being said, the printing process and the assembly are really easy.. One of the easiest to make in the entire birdhouse collection.

As usual:

All the parts are support free

All the parts are placed in the right orientation for printing

Although it is very large, it is still possible to print it on a Mini bed. (180x180mm)

The file names are color coded for an easy setup.

A complete Bambu Lab project file is included.

It uses the same support as the guitar and the cat. I really like this support, among other things for being able to remove the bird house without having to remove screws.

SETTINGS:

As usual, i recommend to use at least 3 walls.

For both parts of the support, i recommend 7 walls. In the Bambu Lab project file, this number is already set to both parts with the function "by object".

Follow the instructions carefully! Make some dry fit checks (without glue) to see how the pieces fit together at each step.

For any other questions, feel free to send me a private message at any time! I will try to help you as much as i can.

Have fun my friends! Keep printing!!!

Pascal

Filaments used in this project:

RED: Polymaker - Polyterra Army red

BLACK: Polymaker - Polyterra Charcoal black

GRAY: Polymaker - Polyterra Fossil gray

Note on the filament: I have used polyterra pla because birdhouses should be placed in a shady area without direct sun. And with the thickness of the parts of this birdhouse, it won't warp for sure. But if you wanna use polyterra for your project, i recommend a good coating of UV protectant (like the Krylon one) to prevent any degradation or discoloration. And if you don't wanna use PLA for this project, feel free to use any other material, like ABS or ASA. The colors up there are really easy to find in those materials.

Fabulous, Pascal! My brother would love this. He was a fireman 👨‍🚒 He’s retired now 👍

This is simply amazing Pascal. I really like the printed bolt heads. I thought at first they were real bolts until I saw the individual pieces laid out. I know some firemen that will love this. Now we need one for paramedics and police. You may have started a new trend in bird houses. 👍🏽

This is great. I can think of a number of people who would love this.

Oooooo... the First Responders Series would be great! Police, Fire, Paramedics... :)

Can you please send the July password so we can download it?

awesome, love your models, just one doubt, there is a reason for the bird house models have no perch?

Michelle

Ok, I am getting requests for the fire hydrant done as a bird feeder. What do you think?

The black mounting pieces don't go together for me. It's too tight to slide on

I made the outside piece 0.5mm bigger and it's perfect
