New month = New link & password! :) August 2024 (Patreon)

Hello my friends!

As at the beginning of every month, I changed the link and the password of the Dropbox and its password. You must now use the new link at the bottom of this post as well as the password attached to it.

As we always do, my sweetheart and I tested the new link/password and everything seems to work perfectly.

However, IT being what it is, if you experience any problems with these, please just let me know. I will be happy to see if the problem is on my side or yours and help you with the problem.

I will conclude by saying that the first Halloween model is coming very soon. I'm aiming for tomorrow to release it, but it might be Sunday if I have any adjustments to make. You know how I like everything to be thought out and finalized, so it may be delayed until Sunday.

On this note, I wish you an excellent evening, friends, and I will come back to you shortly with the new model which I am sure you will really like!

What are the chances we could get something like this happening? This is what 4 out of 6 of my patreons do, the other one that doesn't has their own website for the downloads, personally I find using MMF much more convenient that searching through dropbox. While this affects new users being unable to download the older files you can still offer them for sale at a discount to the newly joined which is what another patreon I support does. Win Win, they get access to older files and you make some additional money. "On the last day of the month, I send the files to My Mini Factory for archiving AND REMOVE any files that are not included in the upcoming month. Since I have a membership renewal and switchover on the 1st of every month... this process allows you to access the months in which you were ACTIVELY subscribed at any time :) You will need a FREE MMF account to redeem them and you will need to use the SAME email as used here for your Patreon account. Make note that this is for current and prior month's access (if you have not yet redeemed any links). For example, if you sign up anytime in May you will receive all May downloads via the redeem link, on May 31st."

I really appreciate the dropbox folder and find it very well organized! I have printed many models from a long time ago, and I had no issue finding them! I am bummed when I see how many have gone to charging even more through other platforms, and then are eliminating files each month making them even tougher to find. Your page is one of the few where I can always find what I need, and it always prints well! I hope loyal subscribers will always have access this way! Thank you!

Wow, some pretty poor reasons to keep Dropbox. Obviously these people have never had a Patreon add files to your MyMiniFactory Library monthly for years. MyMiniFactory models are super easy to find and download, models are listed by ALL in your library OR by specific Patreon, they are easily searchable in either mode, can be listed in either mode by whether you have downloaded them or not, each model also has a picture of the model for you to quickly identify which one you are looking for (can't do that with dropbox, you can set up collections if you want specific models in a category, models also have a section for printing details, which on here can be a pita to find for older models. You can add your own pictures to the models in the comments section, try and do that here if you want to show off your creation. Your library is yours, leave a Patreon, you still have those files (I just looked and can go back to files from 4 years ago when I started my MyMiniFactory account), leave this Patreon and you only keep the files you downloaded already. The ONLY good thing about this Patreon Subscription Model is that it benefits the subscriber in that if you leave for any amount of time and rejoin later, you get access to all the models that you didn't pay the creator for while you weren't a subscriber. Personally, I don't mind paying extra for the models I missed if I had to unsubscribe for any period of time and most, if not all, Creators give you a discount code, one of mine gives a 50% code monthly to purchase models you may have missed while away or are a first-time joiner which I feel is a fair trade.

MMF is really great! I love when designers send you the files at the end of the month and everything is so easy to find through pictures.

When are we geting mroe hothweels items. Its been a LONG time. Almost a year ago you said a clock tower and other BTTF items would be done.

Hi Shawn There's always one Hot Wheels model each month. In july, it was the large overpass model. For august, its the Halloween model which i am completing this week. Took me more time than i expected because its gonna be a 2 in 1 model. Either a large Halloween Decoration or a Hot Wheel diorama if scaled down. Both are gonna be packed with a lot of details. Making the model printable for both purposes takes a bit of time, to make sure everything will have the right thickness everywhere and all the details will be present even if scaled down. In the next week, before september ends, another BTTF model will be released. But it was important for the sellers to have all the Halloween stuff in advance to be able to prepare their store as requested... Regarding the BTTF diorama, like i said in a previous post, its a lot of research and pictures to find, to make sure every details are perfect. Or at least, almost perfect. I want this project to be a one-of-kind diorama, cause its gonna be the only 3d printed BTTF diorama available on the web (correct me if i'm wrong). So i want this project to be just perfect. The clock tower is already started, but its gonna be the last model to be released because its the key part of the diorama. So technically, two models of Hot Wheels will be release this month; The Halloween one, and the BTTF new model. :)

I am looking for other hosting options. 😊 But one thing's for sure, i won't be back on MMF. I will probably make a post regarding this soon. Of all the platforms I've tried in the past, MyMiniFactory is by far the worst. Unless you're making dragons, D&D figurines or cheap 10-minute models like articulated minis with the sole purpose of making money by copying each other, this platform is by far the worst for giving equal visibility to creators, especially those who stay away from "trends" and who are trying to bring something new to the world of 3d printing, those who try to make their own content without imitating others. To give you an idea, In my first year, when I started on Cults, thanks to their way of giving visibility to creators which is fantastic by the way, I sold about $15,000 worth of models. At the same time, I had the same models on MyminiFactory (some of which are still there by the way), which because of its zero visibility and its tendency to always promote the same thing brought me a big... $800 over the whole year. Completely ridiculous. Like i mentionned above, i will probably make a post regarding this later, to see what other people's think and to discuss about some alternatives method. I know dropbox is not the best hosting platform especially since they change their format, so i'm looking at what others have to offer. I am also considering making a profile/membership on Thangs, because i prefer their way compared to MMF. As for the rest, only time will tell. But i've heard you my friends, and i looking for some solutions. 😊
