Good evening my dear friends!

So here it is! As promised, although it took me longer than I expected, here is the brand new Halloween diorama! The abandoned house!

This is probably the most detailed and largest project I have done so far. Not necessarily in terms of size but rather in terms of quantity of pieces. But it is big, I won't hide it from you, it is about 12.5in x12.5in x 12in high. (Approximately 320 x 320 x 300mm high).

A big project! We are talking about:

-65 different pieces.

-A total of about 155 pieces in the whole assembly. (we lost track at one point, lol!)

-31 plates in the Bambu Lab project file.

What were my challenges in this design?

-Manage to make it printable on a mini format printer.

-Manage to keep the modular sections so that the floors can

separate even if it is completely assembled.

-Make the design easy to print.

-Make everything hold together without being too complex.

-Be able to use it with all types of lighting, whether LED strips

 or battery-powered tealights.

-Be able to scale it to a Hot Wheels format if desired. So make sure the thicknesses and tolerances on the parts work even at a reduced scale. On the other hand, I'll have some comments for you below on this point.

That being said, it is however similar to my other projects on the other points. In other words:

-All the parts are placed in the right position for printing.

-The file names are color coded as well as printing specifications (example, fuzzy skin, quantities etc)

-Complete instructions are included.

-A complete Bambu Lab file is included, with the fuzzy skin, color changes and brims already set on the necessary parts. Remember, my color changes are applied by LAYER and not painted, so you have to slice the plate to see them.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

-On the window openings of the wall sections of the house as well as on the basement window openings, I advise you to use tree supports (on buildplate). Although bridging is possible, putting tree supports will not take you much more time and you will be sure of the final quality.

-The design is made to be customizable. Some parts, like the fountain, the monuments, the mini Pumpkins (which is a last minute addition) and the trees doesnt have a specific place. You can place them like i did, or in a complete different way to make your very own decor.

-If you want to put it in Hot Wheels format, you must scale the whole project to 80%. An important point about this option is that I did some tests on several small parts, to see their level of details, and to confirm the tolerances here and there. On the other hand, I did not print the whole project at this scale. It is possible that some details need to be adjusted. If so, please let me know, I will make the necessary changes. You are my testers on this one my friends.

-The project calls for black and dark gray pieces. I used ONLY dark gray in my case. An insignificant detail, but one that you might be happy to know.

-The lighting I used is mostly battery-powered tealights on both floors. I have 4 or 5 per floor.

However, in the basement, I placed a very small piece of COB led strip in front of each window to create the Red Effect. A conventional LED strip can also do the job. The design is quite adaptable with several pass-through holes and ways to light it so feel free to use your favorite source of lighting. You can see my basement lighting in the last photo.

As for the rest of the instructions, I believe everything is mentioned in the instructions provided.

I sincerely hope you will like it!!! It took me longer than I would have liked, but in the end I am very proud of it.

Enjoy friends! Keep printing!!!

Pascal

BobaFett

Welp, I have now dedicated two printers to this AMAZING model.

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot Frédéric! I will try to slice all the plates tomorrow to see the total time and the required filament. :)

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot! I was quite a challenge, but the end result is well worth it!

Frédéric Lallement

After downloading the files ... I did a slice all ... and it says 3 days 12h & 24 min ( as it is defined in the 3mf )

Kelley G

Is there more detail on the lights and hooking it all up ?

Kelley G

??????????????

Jim

Awesome model! Your color choices are always spot on as well.

Gwynnevere

Amazing, Pascal! I will definitely be printing this model, too. Thank you.

Kim Bailey

It says in the description that you can use tealights or led strip lights.

Kelley G

I know I read the description. I was looking for a better info on how to set it all up with the light strip .

Kevin Kerr

What is the yellow film on the windows ?

PA1 MAKER

Hi Kelley If you mean the two small COB led strip in the basement, the included picture is more for the orientation than anything else. The COB led strip is super easy to install if you use the items listed in the post. You don't even have to strip the wires. Just insert them in the connector, close the cover and pins of the connector will make the connection. Same thing on the other side, Insert the COB led strip on the other side of the connector and close the connector to make the connection. The only thing you'll have to do, is to strip and connect the other end of the wires to the power supply, but again, with the terminal included with the power supply it is supper easy. I will try to see if my lovely girlfriend could make a small video about this. Will try to do that during the week.

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot Gwynnevere! Really glad you like it! :)

PA1 MAKER

Hi Kevin! The window panes are 3d printed. They are printed with the Polyterra Lime Green mentionned in the filament list.

Kevin Kerr

OK mustve overlooked that part is that a translucent filament ?

Kevin Kerr

Also looks like a midprint color change ? correct

annie jalbert

merci pour avoir fait un format accessible sur la mini, c'est hyper apprécié. C'est un magnifique Diorama que j'ai très hâte de réaliser:D

Frédéric Lallement

yes ..; it's a set of layer in the color you wants , and then the black ... it's the "window insert" part

Laura Blair

Can anyone tell me the best glue to use for these diorama s?

KD

How about an update without the missing siding sections? So it can be used as just a house without the “abandoned” theme?

Mtlchick

Can i make tis on flashforge ad5x? Or is it too big? I hope i can separate it my dimensions are 220x220x220

PA1 MAKER

Yep! Almost all my designs are modular and made with mini printers in mind. So it will fit on a 180x180x180 printer, like the Prusa mini and the Bambu Lab A1 mini. So no stress! A 220x220x220 printer will have no problem printing it! ;) But don't be fooled! Its a big print! Have fun! :)
