UPDATE 2025-02-19: Mounting supports were missing. They are now added to the files. Also an error was present on the door in the bambu lab file project. The color change was one layer too soon. Now it is corrected. Sorry for that!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello again! Second post of the evening!

Honestly, this design has probably been requested more than fifty times! It's a design that I started last summer, and for several reasons it had been put on hold.

The first being the proportions! How to succeed in making a good old Winnebago with the disproportionate proportions that we know it for! Having a minimum height to respect for the birds, I ended up with a birdhouse as long as a baseball bat... Obviously, it was not the way to go... 😂

Make it a "shorty" model? Okay, but we must still recognize at first glance the mythical F17 of Winnebago. It was quite a challenge to have everything in such a short rv. And that's where the design stopped last year; Unable to get the look that I wanted to have.

When I took over the design, by a curious coincidence almost everything fell into place... The shorty look, the right elements, the classic shape as well as the "toon" side that I wanted to give it. He was born! Finally I had managed to fit everything in as I really wanted!

So here it is now in grand premiere tonight! Mission accomplished! I am very happy with the final result I must say!

Concerning the project, it is the same as all the other bird houses!

-All the parts are placed in the right orientation for printing.

-ONLY ONE part requires very simple supports, and that is the rear bumper. Supports on the buildplate only. The surfaces exposed to the supports will not show, so no stress. ;)

-The file names are color coded as well as the quantities required.

-Some parts require color changes (colors are specified in the file name). All can be done on a conventional printer. If you are not familiar with color changes, let me know and I will help you.

-A Bambu Lab project file is included in the folder.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

-For the Bambu Lab project file, the colors are already set by LAYERS and not painted. You must slice the plate first in order to see the color changes applied in the preview.

-The "W" line is a little difficult to glue in place. I recommend more than ever to do a dry fit check (without glue) in order to see how to position the pieces. But all in all, it is still relatively easy to do.

-You will need the following hardware:

-(4x) m3 x 10mm screws

-(4x) m4 x 12mm screws

I recommend this type of screws, which are great for plastics and which will not strip easily;

As usual, I recommend that you follow the instructions to the letter. I also encourage you to do some "Dry fit checks" (without glue) to see how the pieces join together before starting to glue, especially when you are unsure.

If you have any questions about the project, please let me know!

Have fun my friends and keep printing!!!

What filament type is being used for bird houses PLA, PETG ?

Joe

This is Awesome! I collect old Tonka winnebago RVs

AGENATOR 3D

I normally use PETG for everything for outdoor heat and strength here in Georgia.

AGENATOR 3D

I assume the mounting bracket is the standard one. I didn't see in STL or Project files.

Chris Davis

That’s what I was thinking too. I’m also in Georgia.

AGENATOR 3D

In the dropbox with all the other files.

Color change on door is one layer too soon for the silver - FYI

Magsw257

How do I download this pls

Just WOW!!! This was worth the wait!! This is going to be an instant hit!! It's love at first sight for me. My dad had an old beat up Winnebago when I was a kid and we had lots of adventures in it, even when it was broke down in our backyard. Thanks for the hard work and sharing with us!!

You are right my friends! My bad, i forgot them. They are now in the folder. Thanks for notifying me!

You are right. It is now corrected, but I have an issue with this. Can you tell me if you have the same problem? When i try to put the color change on the layer 14, its skip automatically to layer 13 in bambu studio... Don't know why. I can't put the color change on layer 14. So it is now on layer 15, a layer above were its supposed to be, but it will do the job. Thanks for notifying me my friend! :)

Files are in the dropbox. The name of the folder is mentionned at the bottom of the post. You need to be a paid member to access the dropbox. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask my friend! :)

I use to sell these and love the birdhouse designs. I making these in ASA And your right about the $20 in material. Petg can reduce it done to about $12-15 depending. After printing and assembly you need about $50-60 to make them worth it. Then the problem becomes most people won't spend over $30-35. So don't sell them much anymore but do like making them time from time. I make other things now that have way bigger profit margins. Hopes this helps.

I started out printing all my birdhouses in ASA and ABS. The problem was I could not make any money on them because the filament I was using cost a little too much and I only had one printer that could reliably print those materials. That meant each house took too long to print. On top of that I would have more print failures using them. So, what I decided to try was to use regular PLA and then coat the assembled house with a UV protectant clear coat. It was a game changer for me. Now I can use all 14 of my printers and get even the most complicated birdhouse or feeder done in less than a day. I've tested the PLA models outdoors in all climates and so far, they hold up great. I do attach a disclaimer to each that states that it's not recommended to mount in direct sunlight. I personally have several that have been mounted in my yard for more than three years without any noticeable issues. One thing I will say is that it may take some time before birds will make them their home most likely due to the smell of the UV protectant. But after a while they will. It seems like the feeders they could care less about the smell because they will use them immediately. Sorry, this was so long. Good luck.

No worries! New file is doing color change at layer 15 according to my Bambu Studio. when I try to change it to layer 14, it also skips and starts color change at layer 15. There is something that is making layer 13 want to be sliver, if that helps at all on your end. Can send you pics for reference if needed! Keep up the amazing work! Your mom is definitely smiling down on you! 😉

This is definitely a Gem for sure. Cant wait to hand it on the awning everywhere we visit with the RV. hehe might make two of them one with a light inside. Cosmetic appeal. hehe

I'm wondering if anyone has scaled this up to a larger size and how it turned out? I miss when most birdhouses Pascal designed had an option for a bigger size.

AGENATOR 3D

Where you at? I'm in Macon.

PawProducts.uk

Would love to see more animal birdhouses, like a highland cow, dog, or even a turkey.

Todd Neff

Where is the dropbox?

ANA

My front windows and the door printed in single color instead of the two the side ones printed correctly still a super cute print

thomas hunt

I finished mine today I love these models I haven’t found the ability to make one lately but it’s definitely great birdhouse

pheathers24

How are these holding up outside in the sun when made in PETG? Just wanting to have realistic expectations since I'm pretty new to printing

Sally

I ordered this birdhouse but can’t locate file
