Hello friends! It's me again! :)
Tonight, I'm adding a new addition to the gingerbread decoration family! It's something I've been asked for several times, and I admit I had some difficulty combining the real-life object with the simplicity of the gingerbread train. But I think I can safely say that the mission is accomplished!
So tonight, I'm offering you the gingerbread pickup truck!
I think it goes perfectly with the rest of the set, not having too many details and maintaining the simple look of a gingerbread construction.
The project is, of course, compatible with all printers, including "mini" size ones.
No supports are required.
I have design a much more easier candy wheel for this project. No stripes to glue in place!
All the parts are already oriented correctly for printing.
A Bambu Lab file is included, as usual!
IMPORTANT: Read the following carefully, as it contains important information!
1- I printed the design in two sizes. Its original size (which is 100%) and a smaller truck at 80%. Why 80%? Because the original size was intended to be part of the train station. However, the 80% size fits perfectly with the gingerbread house. So I decided to show you what it looks like with the gingerbread house. WARNING: at 80%, if you decide to do this, you'll have some really tricky pieces to glue, like the window frames on the sides. But with the tips below, you should be able to manage without too much trouble.
So remember: Original scale to match the train station.80% scale if you wanna match the gingerbread house.
2- Speaking of window trim, I highly recommend applying your small drops of glue using a toothpick or a bottle with a dropper like this one:

In fact, I highly recommend this glue because it's very easy to apply, doesn't leave any white residue, and the included droppers work perfectly.
If you put too much glue on a small piece, like the window trim, here's a nice tip; simply touch it gently with the corner of a piece of paper towel, and the remaining amount should be more than enough to glue the piece.
3- The wheels on this project rotate. So follow the instructions carefully to avoid accidentally gluing them.
4- The snowflake on the roof has a specific orientation due to the shape of the roof. The instructions clearly state how to position it.
5- Regarding the front grille, my suggestion is to print the pieces once you're ready to assemble it. Because of the curved shape of the front of the hood, they have a specific placement and are in the correct order on the printer bed. It's very quick to print, so when you're ready to assemble the front of the truck, print the grille and glue it in the same order as on the bed.
If you happen to print them in advance and mix them up, don't worry, it's still easy to find their place by laying them out on a table and comparing them side by side. The tallest piece is the one in the center.
That being said, I believe everything else is well detailed in my instructions and easy to assemble.
Remember that in the Bambu Lab files, the color changes are already set by layers and not painted. This means you absolutely must slice the plate first to see the applicable color changes in the preview window.
