Hello friends! Last post of the evening! After three posts, your inbox must be getting spammed by my presence, lol!

DESIGN DATABASE UPDATE 003!

Carl's House! A cute lamp inspired by the movie UP!

And yes! This one was also absent from Patreon since the Dropbox was removed!

Continuing in the vein of the first models I produced several years ago, this model was released at the beginning of autumn 2021!

There are quite a few things to say about this design, so it's important to read this post carefully.

This project is quite large. Many parts, many steps in the instructions, so to be honest, I haven't touched it and I've kept it in its original form.

As this is one of my very first projects, you'll notice (for those familiar with my work) that the folder format and instructions are quite different from what I do today.

However, having been printed by several of you, I know it's still well-structured and easy to navigate. Printing is designed to be straightforward.

Important things to know:

Approximate dimensions when completed: 200mm x 200mm x 280mm (including balloons)

Easy to print; only a few parts need supports (the pink and yellow towers).

All 130 files are zipped inside one folder. Instructions are in the other zip file.

- Divided into multiple easy steps with clear instructions. Almost everything is glued except for a few parts.

- Parts are individually numbered with corresponding instructions.

- File names start with the part number.

- File names are color-coded, so you know which color to use.

- Files are already oriented correctly.

-Don't pay attention to the rest of the name file, the first number and color are everything you need! 😉

-Refer to assembly pictures for quantity and position.

For the balloons, I have printed them at full size, and some others were scaled to 115% to have bigger ones...

For the balloon strings, simply use a piece of 1.75mm filament.

***FOLLOW the instructions for assembly. Altough it is quite simple, some steps are required before some others. So follow the instructions in pictures, and everything should be very easy.

You don't need supports for the stairs. If your bridging settings are well done, print them as is and it will be fine.

IMPORTANT: Originally, everything was lit with a light kit from Aliexpress. I ADVISE YOU TO IGNORE this item. Opt instead for the current standard, which is an LED strip or a COB LED light strip i used in my more recent designs. Assembly will be much easier.

If I'm not mistaken, the reference for the old kit on AliExpress was this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000879534573.html

But as I was saying, I highly recommend you go for something simpler and more user-friendly.

DISCLAIMER: I recommend using this design for your personal use only. Pixar is a subsidiary of Disney, and Disney doesn't mess around with copyrights. Very few of my designs are licensed items, so personal use only is highly recommended.

Ultimately, I can't control what you'll do with it, but I would appreciate it if everyone respected this.

Also note that this model isn't available anywhere else, only here, for the reasons mentioned above.

So there you have it! I think I haven't forgotten anything, even if it's all a bit hazy in my memory!

Happy printing, my friends, and see you soon with more designs.

Have fun, friends! And take care!

Pascal

Blue piece #8 has a space on the print model but not on the step 001 picture. Which one should it be?

Chris West

The part is correct.

Lindalaveen

Sorry, I'm confused. The blue part in the step 001 picture or the part in the model to be printed that has the space cut out?

Chris West

The part that has the cutout is correct. Once you start putting it together it’ll all make sense. The instructions are from an earlier draft and aren’t as detailed as the instructions of more recent models. We advise posting your questions in the FB group as you’ll get quick replies from those that have already printed the items. Thanks for subscribing!

Lindalaveen

Ok, sorry, but I missed the notch on the base. My bad. Thank you again for this model.

Any chance of you making a one car garage to go with the up house?

Minikeeper

I love this one! The only thing better would be if it were one of your birdhouses!
