Hello my fantastic friends!

A little birdhouse today to relaunch the collection and celebrate the approaching spring!

Since birdhouses with "profession" themes are very popular, I thought a little school bus would be a great idea! Whether for resale, for your home, as a gift for a school, or as an end-of-year present for your child's teacher, it will find its place with everyone, I'm sure!

Chubby, compact, and visually appealing, this little bus is very simple to print and assemble.

I had a bit of a challenge adapting the shape to a reasonably sized birdhouse, and especially regarding ventilation. I didn't want holes in the front windows; I wanted it to be discreet, so I omitted the rear details to add ventilation holes. I also incorporated discreet yet effective ventilation holes on the front, on each side of the bus's hood.

Drainage holes are present in the floor to prevent water accumulation, and the floor is screwed in place, like all my other birdhouses, so you can clean the inside between seasons.

The design is intended for small birds, with a 30mm entrance. However, you can scale the project as needed. You will, however, need to adjust the size of the screws required for assembly.

Technically, this lovely project prints without supports. However, depending on your printer's overhang tolerance, you may need supports on the main body of the bus. (For the entrance and the overhang of the windshield)

The project prints without any problems on a mini-format printer (like the A1 Mini and the Prusa Mini). (All Printers with a build volume of 180x180x180mm)

The rest is designed like all my other birdhouses, with the STL files oriented correctly for printing, and the filenames include colors and quantities.

Some parts require color changes per layer, but again, I think you're all used to this. It can be done with any type of printer, and if you're not familiar with it, feel free to check out my Facebook community page for help.

Finally, a Bambu Lab project file is also included, with all the color changes and settings required. The color changes are already set, but I like to remind you that they are by layers and not painted, so you must slice the plate first to see the color changes in the preview window.

That being said, a few tips regarding birdhouses:

- Never install a birdhouse in a very sunny spot. Birds prefer cooler temperatures, and a consistently shaded location is necessary for nesting.

-Always orient the entrance (as much as possible) towards the north/east. This is the optimal orientation for your birdhouse.

-Ideally, it should be installed in a quiet location. A busy, noisy area is more likely to scare away our little feathered friends.

So there you have it! Now all you have to do is fire up your printers and have fun with this little project!

I hope you like it as much as I do! As for me, I'm going back to my current projects and I'm preparing some great things for you to come!

Take care, everyone! Thanks again and always for your fantastic support! ❤️

This is awesome . I have all your birdhouses built and downstairs on display . I worked for the School District transportation department in charge of the bus routing in the past, so this will be a great retirement gift for a lot of the drivers . Can't wait to get going . Thanks Pascal .

It's always exciting to get one of your birdhouses!! They are always so well thought out and just plain fun to print and build!!! This one will be no different!! Help please! I printed the black sections of the bus, but was then trying to figure out how to make each color to one or two plates rather than printing each one individually. In doing so, somehow it switched from Bambu to Orca Flashforge, and I cannot get it back, even by redownloading from Patreon. I opened it, selected my current printer and sliced. It turns it into a g code, and I can't print it from Bambu Studio. How can I get this download to go to my Bambu P1S?? I appreciate any suggestions. I am on a Lenovo laptop. Thanks for any help!

Hello Cathy. Sorry to hear you are having issues. You are likely to receive better support via Facebook instead of this comments section. Posting in our FB group, or even a Bambu FB group is likely to yield better support than what we could provide. If you add photos to your post, it'd also help. Good luck. -Chris
