Hello, my fantastic friends!

Once again, while I work on a larger design, I’ve created another Christmas classic that’s quick to print and easy for you to sell if you wish.

It’s the classic "Santa Cam"—perfect for placing anywhere so Santa can keep track of who’s been naughty or nice. And it comes in two customizable versions!

(NOTE: THE WHOLE SET OF PHOTOS IS COMPLETELY AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST AND THE ZIP FILE CONTAINING ALL THE STL FILES IS JUST BELOW THE PHOTOS.)

Please read the following carefully, as there is important information regarding the available versions, nameplates, languages, and other printing details.

I’ve created two versions for you. One is a "desktop" style designed to be placed anywhere—on a shelf, desk, dresser, or any other flat surface in your home!

The other is a tree ornament style; it’s thinner and lighter, making it easy to hang on your tree using a standard ornament hook.

There is a nameplate at the bottom of the camera where you can add the name of the family connected to the North Pole.

In the STL files, this nameplate is blank, so you can add whatever name you like using your slicer.

In the Bambu Lab project file, the nameplate features the text "your family." Simply double-click the nameplate to edit the text however you wish using Bambu Studio’s text function.

I’ve also included two language options for the camera body: English and French. If you want to use a different phrase instead of "Santa Cam," simply cut the original text off the camera body using the "cut" tool in your slicer and add your own text using your slicer's text tool.

The two camera types are in separate folders, so there’s no risk of mixing up the required parts.

As for the rest, it’s just like my other projects:

Everything prints without supports.

The files are already oriented correctly for printing.

Two complete Bambu Lab project files are included, with all required settings (one for each camera type).

File names are coded by color, quantity, and settings (where applicable).

Some parts require color changes at specific layers. If you aren't familiar with this easy process—which can be done on any 3D printer—feel free to ask for help on my community page:

DON'T FORGET! In the Bambu Lab project file, color changes are by layers; you must slice the plate FIRST to see the color changes in the preview window.

Finally, complete instructions are included—though they are quite brief and almost unnecessary. I decided to include them anyway to avoid any ambiguity.

Note that the instructions cover only the more "complex" of the two models, but the process is essentially the same for the "slim" version, minus two parts.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Have fun with the print while I get back to working on my big project!

Take care, everyone!

Pascal

Have you thought about a blink camera version like the one little bird feeder you did 😜

This is awesome!!

When I change printers to another printer the mistletoe removes all the color layers. Also the name plate. It won't let me split it to printer individually, it won't let me color it by part, edge detection. please advise

Lindalaveen

Yeah, I can do that. Was just hoping for an easier way. Thank you. Love the camera though. Also, can you make a desk camera without the indentation for the mistletoe? Just asking

Chris West

Welcome to 3D printing! It's not always easy! Here's another video on how to fill in spaces if you don't want any indentation. The video shows how to do it in Prusa Slicer, but the process is the same in Bambu Studio. You can also do it in Tinkercad which is very user friendly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wAtV3MC1gs

On the Ornament version I am curious if there is supposed to be green around the edges of the name plate When I got to slice without adding a name, it comes up completely white. Am I doing something wrong? I was wanting the green edge look like you have in the photos
