Hello friends! Hope everyone's fine! :) Here's the third building of the Christmas Village! A nice fire station, which was supposed to be (at the beginning of the project) a... toy store...

While working on it two days ago, i realized that it was wayyyyy too big for a toy store, even a two stories one... So instead of trashing it like i do sometimes and re-start from scratch, i tought it would be nice to transform the design it into a suggestion i had few days ago from a patron here, Chris.

So i'm offering tonight, the Fire Station, 100% Hot Wheels compatible in size and the biggest building in the village to date.

The instructions are included inside the zip file, and as usual for the big parts, try to use thick layer height, like 0.24, 0.28 or even 0.30. The body on this one was done with layers of 0.28mm and the look it really great. You will save time a lot by using higher layer height for the big parts.

For the signage, use thin layer height (like 0.12mm), with low temperature and slow speed, with a color change at the corresponding layer. For the small parts, 0.20 and even 0.10mm height is recommended. I have tried 0.30mm height on the roof snow on this one, and you can see the layer lines are really visible and too thick for a rounded, small part like this. Altought the look is still nice and clean, the layer lines on the snow is a killer in my opinion.

The written instructions here are also included in the zip file! Thanks to Tony for the suggestions to add them!!!

Have fun with this one too!Pascal

UPDATE: This post also include the zip file for the snow free version mentioned in this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/update-on-hot-87356737?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=postshare_creator&utm_content=join_link

Kinda hard to print, had to print 1 by 1 instead of everything in one project and just different plates on bambu studio

Joan Dubois

I like it but I wish there was one Bambu file. Also the signs and wreath do not print in multi colour as shown. Kind of a shame you can’t use the fire hall sign.

Hi Joan! :) Unfortunatelay, those models are two years old, so that's why there's no bambulab project file for them. And with over 250+ models, i cannot make a bambulab files for all of them, it would take too much time considering the fact that i am alone here. Not a team of designers like many other pages. So its too much time consuming. But maybe you can ask on my Facebook community, if someone has a BambuLab file to share for this project. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1403567230344891 Regarding the signs, yes you can print them in multiple colors, like the pictures. All you have to do is a simple color change at height while printing, which can be done with any kind of printer. If you are not familiar with color changes, i can send you a link if you want. You can also paint the letters in BambuStudio if you prefer. But it will be longer to print. A color change at height is much more faster to print.

Chris

On the Fire Station sign is there any way you can paint the letter black. I tried and it paints the hole sign

Tony

I know you were asking for village piece suggestions earlier... Here are some from my wife... Farmhouse... Schoolhouse... Pet Store... Church... Restaurant/Bar/Tavern... Gas station... So far these pieces are amazing and they're keeping me busy as I have to print three sets!

Chris West

Gas station should be easy as he’s done that earlier. Just needs to make it Christmas themed.

Chris West

Dude! Looks great! I’ll be making this tomorrow and I’ll send you the result.

taking that in consideration Tony! Big thanks to you and your wife! Except maybe for the gas station, cause there's already one in the hot wheels collection, but the school and the restaurant are something i will consider for sure. Just don't know if i'm gonna have the time... 😬😅

if i remember correctly, it was 350%.
