Hello my friends! As many makers, i needed more storage boxes for my small parts and my hardware.

Printing another series of my current boxes would have been a solution, but there's no challenge into this and thought it would be fun to create something different as usual.

So i made those easy-to-print container boxes.

They are stackable and they are very strong in compression.

The structure is inspired of industrial containers and although the walls are thin, they can take a serious load.

Two designs are included: Normal and thicker.Normal: wall thickness is 0.8mm. Thicker: 1.2mm

Dimensions of one box: 146mm x 87mm x 45mm

Both types were tested and they can support my weight, which is roughly 200lbs. Really amazing for something that thin. If you try it, tell me in the comments if you were able to put a considerable amount of weight on it. If you have bad prints, with stringing or defects, don't throw them away before testing them! :p

It is for sure overkilled for this design and a bit useless, but its interesting to see how a thin piece of plastic can support this much weight!

As usual, the files are already placed in the right orientation. No supports needed. Just print and enjoy! Can be scaled up, but i don't recommend to scale it down.

SETTINGS:

-Print File "Partition" 2x-Print all parts with a 0.3 layer height for faster print-All parts with this layer should take under 6hrs to print (the whole thing, box + cover + 2 partitions)-Use 3 walls and 10% rectilinear infill.

If you have any other questions, just ask! 😉

Have a nice day folks!

Pascal

NOTE: If you decide to stand on it like i did, please do it carefully. Try to put a small wood board on it and wear shoes!!! I would be very sad to ear someone got hurt while doing this. 3d printing can break in sharp points sometimes, and that can be risky for your foot. So be careful and make things correctly. 😉

Thank you. You can never have enough storage containers because makers always need materials

Great containers....and they are super strong as a bonus!!!!!

Do you have overall printer settings perhaps? I used above and can't get below 7hrs for the body itself!

Hi Jake! Which slicer/printer are you using? With prusa slicer, on the regular container (not the thicker one) my settings are those: -4 Tops, 3 Bottoms -0.3mm layer height (draft preset for pla) -3 Walls -10% rectilinear infill -Keeping the default speed for this preset (50mm/s for perimeters and 85mm/s for infill) -Travel 180mm/s, accel 800mm/s (again, default preset) -No supports, no brim. I am exactly at 3h07m and just under 56g of material... Its a lot of difference!!! if you compare these settings with yours it may help you find why the print time is so different. Again, slicers and printers are all different, a different time value may occur, but its not supposed to be that much. But together we will try to figure this out... 🙂
