Me again!

Starting the month with a small model, but it was quite challenging to make!

Its been a long time since i wanted to add some containers in my HW accessories.

Designing them wasnt easy! Trying to add some tiny details while remaining easily printable with FDM printers was a real challenge.

Two models are included in the package: 20ft and 40ft containers

-Working doors on both ends.

-The files are already placed in the right orientation

-Use a layer height of 0.2 to have nice tolerances for the hinges. I have tested other layer heights, and with a smaller layer height the print time is too long for nothing, and with a thicker layer height, hinges don't work properly.

-Your extrusion width must be 0.4mm or 0.45mm max!!! On some slicers, presets can have an extrusion width of 0.5 and even 0.6 for a 0.4 nozzle, so be sure to adjust your extrusion at 0.4 or 0.45 max for best results.

-If your bridge settings are almost perfect, this is printable without any supports. But the bridge settings of your printer must be very well calibrated. If you have any doubt, put some supports but select the option "on buildplate only". The base is the only place where they are needed.

For the details on the doors (locking bars), use a simple color change at height at the right layer. If you are not familiar with color changes, send me a message and i will help you with this. :)

FOR ASSEMBLY: Super easy. Cut 70mm of filament and insert it through the holes of the container and doors. Slide it completely until it pops out on the other side and cut flush the excess on both side. The filament should slide easily but with just a bit of restriction. This is caused by the curved shape of the filament, but you should still be able to insert it easily. Cut the end of the filament in angle to help you slide it in place.

If you're having trouble with the assembly or with the files, send me a message. I will help you as much as i can.

Have fun!

Love all your work, I wonder if it would be hard to scale these for slot cars

What is the file called with the garage?

Question: What are you using for the hinge pins?

Hi Larry, Have a look at the instructions (in the text of the post). I used pieces of filament, but in the post i give the correct length and the best way to do it!!! :)

Got it. Not sure how I missed it. Thanks
