Hello folks! When I'm working on bigger projects, especially when I'm stuck on something, I like to take a step back and rest my brain on smaller projects.

This is what gave birth to this pretty little lounge chair.

Created between a bird house and a Hot Wheels project, here is my latest creation, a small planter that is definitely as cute as easy to print.

NOTE: If you don't wanna waste the quarter of a filament spool on one chair, read this!!!

The armchair is printable without supports. Everything is easy to print and the overhangs are super easy. The problem is that the chair is fairly big. But i have found the perfect settings to let you print this without spending over 240g of filament.

Choose any layer height, the one you prefer, BUT set your extrusion width to 0.5mm.

Go for 2 walls (shells) and use 15% or lightning infill. This will give you an (almost) hollow print with very few, but enough, infill.

You will have a main shell of 1mm thichk in total, and with the infill set this way, you should use around 130-140g of filament.

Even more simple: If you are running PrusaSlicer, use the preset "0.30mm draft" and change the layer height (i.e) for 0.2mm for a better finish, set the lightning infill to 15%, but keep all the other settings! This preset is already set with 0.5 and 0.6 extrusion width for the walls and you will gain time and solidity.

The green chair is printed with the Fuzzy option. The peach one is printed normally. Feel free to use the fuzzy option if you want, it gives a nice fabric finish.

You can scale the model up or down if you want, to accommodate any pot size.

The actual size is suitable for a 68mm diameter flowet pot. (2-5/8in) Knowing the actual diameter will help you make a ratio to scale the planter the size you want! ;)

As usual, if you have any other questions or you're having difficulty with the model, send me a message! I hope you like, have a nice day my friends!

Lightning infill is a spool saver! The only downside is the weight. For that, you can stop the print at some height, add weight like sand mixed with glue, nuts or whatever you have in hands. You should have a try on prusaslicer 2.6.0 Alpha, it have some good new features!

Exactly. But weight in this case in not really an issue, because the flower pot will add enoudh weight to the armchair to prevent any accident/spills. Regarding prusaslicer 2.6.0 Alpha, i made the move this morning but didnt had the time to explore the whole thing. Will have a look at it tomorrow and try the new features, but the reviews over the web are more than good!
