Me again! :p This one is quite simple, but it was inspired by a little girl with this in mind: "Birds should eat from a cloud, protected by a nice and colorful rainbow"...

I tought it was a super cute idea and i made this project between (again) the two others i am actually working on.

As many of my files, no supports needed. 100% support free.

For the rainbow, use the color change function for each color of the rainbow.

I have also included in the package a 3mf file for the color changes, already placed at the right layers and with the right order for the colors. Feel free to use it!

You will need:

-(4x) M3 x 10mm screws

-(4x) M3 x 16mm screws

-Some rope, wire, cord, fishing line... The one you prefer...

There's a simple exploded view for the instructions in the zip file.

To attach the rope (not shown in the exploded view), use the part called "string plate" and tie it to one end of the rope.

Guide the rope through the hole in the center of the rainbow (from underneath the rainbow) and attach the other extremity of the rope to the included hook on the other side.

The string plate is strong enough to take the weight of the birdfeeder. You can now use the hook to suspend your birdfeeder anywhere you want.

If you have any questions just ask. I hate making things with strings/ropes, just because i found difficult to make clear instructions. So don't be shy to ask if you're having some questions, i will help you with pleasure.

Have fun! I'm going back to the other designs i'm working on! Pascal

love this design! having some issues with the second layer on the posts, hook, and string plate. the perimeter of the second layer prints in mid air because its a filet but too close to bed for a support. any advice?

Hello Pascal. I like the design. Could you provide the rainbow with individual pieces with connections? I would like to use this with the AMS and print without a break. With 2 passes you would get there. Many thanks in advance.

I am printing this one now , but since I dont have a printer that does multi color I have to print the rainbow in white than paint the colors.. have you ever thought about doing the colors separate for people that can only print one color at a time ?

Mike Boock

Hello Pascal! Great job with everything you do! I was printing this model and I don't see where the Rainbow roof has the counter inks needed for the screws to be recessed into the roof to mount to the supports? Was there and update for this that I missed? TIA

Dave Damron

Hi Mike, have you received any feedback on this yet? I've printed several of these and the M3x16mm screws definitely need to be countersunk else it doesn't make it into the posts. Thanks

you can just change the colors at layer heights. He points this out in the description of using the 3mf file. most of us only use single-nozzle extruders. so changing colors at layer heights is normal. give it a try!
