Hello my dear friends! While working on some other designs, i have decided to put the final touch to this one, which was on the ice since a couple of weeks.

The project was started at the same time i made the airplane 3d lamp, but i've never had the opportunity to finish it.

Now its done, and i must say that i'm quite proud of the final result!

So here's my cute locomotive lamp, with nice details and easy-to-print parts!

As usual, the main features are:

-No supports needed

-All parts are placed in the right orientation for printing

-Color coded names for easy printing setup

-Easy assembly with detailed instructions

-Will fit any type of printers with a bed of 220x220mm in its original version and there's also a version for the prusa mini users. (see below)

ALWAYS make a dry fit check (without glue) before gluing the parts! That's the key folks! This way you won't make mistakes and you will have a nice, clean result in the end!

For the number on the side, a simple color change at the correct layer will give you the black text. Again, if you are not familiar with color changes, send me a message and i will explain it to you with pleasure.

Once the assembly is done, put your favorite source of lighting inside and enjoy! I used small led strips (2) for mine, and the effect is just perfect in my opinion.

PRUSA MINI OWNERS:

In the zip file, you will find three "optional" files, which are the sleepers in two separate parts and the rails to accommodate your mini printer. Print those parts instead of the original ones, and glue them together. I strongly suggest that you glue the sleepers first, on a FLAT surface, and add the rails once the glue on the sleepers is dry. This way you will have a nice, flat, rail track.

If you have any kind of questions, or problems with the files, send me a message! I will try to help you as much as possible.

Have fun my friends and i hope you like it!!!

Keep printing!!!Pascal

How much time and grams? LOL! I was literally just saying i need to get some train stuff!

PA1 MAKER

For the whole project, around 300 grams (walls are thin, like the airplace, to let the light shine through) and with an X1C around 13hours of printing for the whole thing. BTW, i saw you private message yesterday Kiara, i will be back to you tomorrow morning. Sorry for the late response. ;)

You don't have to apologize at all I understand and I appreciate your time and work. You respond when you have time!

This is another AMAZING design.

Is there a way to get a customizable number plate? My sons favorite trains are the Jupiter and Leviathan. It would be amazing if we had the option to customize this.

Omg! Please please PLEASE, make this into a birdhouse!!

Matthew Hardy

I've made one in Tinkercad to have a name instead of number, just a 40x16mm rectangle and add text on top.

PA1 MAKER

If i give you a blank plate, will it be ok for you? I know many slicers offers the option now to add text on a file. If its good with you, just tell me, and i will add it. If not, just tell me what you need exactly, or if you want me to customize them with the names you said, and i will do it with pleasure.

PA1 MAKER

I will add this to my list! 😊

A blank would be fantastic. Ty

What filament/colors did you use? It looks great.

I’m looking for help on color changing so I can get the text on the prints that have text. It’s been hard trying to paint letters that look nice

Do you have a link to the led light strip you used?
