Here's the 2023 addition to the Hot Wheels Christmas Village!
Like i said in a previous post, i wanted to publish it earlier, but for personal reasons I was not able to do so.
But its now done, and i am really happy to give it to you this morning.
Like all the Hot Wheels buildings, the project is easy to do as long as you follow the instructions. The written instruction here, and the exploded views in the zip file.
All the parts are support free. BUT one part (the large roof) has a predefined support that you will need to remove after printing. You will find this support in the hole of the large roof. I have tested the support, it is easy to remove and it prints easily.
You will also find a small hole at the back. Its to insert Christmas mini light bulbs if you want.
But on my pictures, the church is illuminated with 4 battery operated tealights.
I recently bought this package of tealights, and they are fantastic for Christmas village and those type of applications, because you can charge them and you have a remote control to open/close them all at once without opening the fairy house or the Hot Wheel diorama to have access to the candle. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0C8H9LVZP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
The base is printed with fuzzy skin. The fuzzy skin settings are;
-Point distance: 0.4mm
-Thickness: 0.3mm
The windows are printed with a simple color change at the corresponding layer. I choose Yellow and Blue for the colors but feel free to make them the color you want.
I don't know why, but OrcaSlicer made a strange thing when doing the color change on the front large window. Some yellow was incorporated in the blue, and the result was a funny gradient when the lights are on. If you can tell me what happened there and if you have the same issue, it would be appreciated.
Use at least 4 walls for this build. The parts will be stronger and it will prevent light from shining through some parts.
For the rest, everything is well detailed in the exploded views.
Like i always do, i strongly recommend to make some dry fit checks (without glue) of the parts while assembling the model. This will show you how the parts are glued together, you will know if you have the right parts or not and where to put your glue.
So that's it my friends! Hope you like it!
I will be back later with the list of filament for this project. I have a few things to do, but i will be back in the evening with the list.
EDIT: I forgot to tell you that you also have the "summer" version inside the files, which consist of a "concrete base" and a snowless roof. 😉
Have fun!!!
