Hello my friends!

Here's the first model of 2024, and its a cute fairy house especially made for Valentine's day!

It is probably my most complicated fairy house to date. Because of the surface of the petals, it was really hard to have something nice and clean for the window and the door.

To make it support free was also a challenge. But in the end, it looks fantastic and its easy to print with any kind of printer.

Like most of my projects, all the parts are already placed in the right orientation and complete instructions are included with exploded views.

Like i said above no supports are needed at all.

The file names are color coded, with quantities (when applicable) and if they require fuzzy skin.

The things you should know about this project:

Because of the shape of the petals, you may notice that there's some "gaps" here and there in the model when you will slice it. Not visible from the outside, but you'll see them if you scroll down with the slider in the preview to have a look layer by layer. Those gaps are "normal", they are where the petals are meeting together and they should not cause any problems while printing.

For the parts with fuzzy skin, my settings were: 0.3 fuzzy skin thickness, and 0.4 fuzzy skin distance.

The fit between the parts and the tolerances are calculated with the fuzzy skin in mind, so everything should fit well with those settings.

For the bambulab user, a 3mf file is included, with all the special settings (like fuzzy skin) already set by object.

For the other settings, feel free to change them if you want. They are my favorite settings, but they are not mandatory.

If you are having problems printing the smaller tree because he is alone on its plate, add another one on the plate. You only need one, but for the difference in time and filament consumption, it doesnt really matter to print two of them. This will prevent heat accumulation in the part and they will be better looking. Also for the larger trees, you need two of those. So print them together for the same reason.

As usual, i recommend to make some dry fit checks (without glue) at each step. This will give you a nice idea how to assemble the parts together and where to put the glue.

So that's it! The rest is in the instructions in the zip file!

Have fun my friend and again Happy New Year to all of you!!! PascalList of filaments:

Stunning work man and perfect timing for a battle she has going on on her desk between the leafmen and the bottle cap boys lol She just said tonight she needed something for her leafmen army to defend this is beyond perfect lol

J’adore l’effet des pétales de rose et le petit détail, le cœur sur la porte !

Galloway

Stunning work! 🤩

So looking forward to the future fairy houses this year. They’re a hit in our house! Can’t wait to see what you do for each holiday and season.

Douglas Vroonen

superb!!! I did already ordered the filaments missing to do it 😍

Apryl Satterlee

Getting ready to get this printing today, Love all the fairy houses!! Just a quick question though, have you thought of designing a cute little fairy family to go with them? :)

Frédéric Lallement

So cute 🥰 It's already printed .. but can't attach a picture here 😭

S3D

Amazing. About to send it to the printer.

Adam Jones

Simply stunning!! This may quickly become a fan favorite!! Thanks for sharing with us and also for all of your hard work!!

Printed_Riffs

Just finished the first one. My wife always gets the first.

Charles "Rock" Flanders

I find all of you have great creative muse. You inspire me. Thank you. :)

IsaacBlueWolf_Art

At first I was like a crap it's in pieces. I can see why, your work is amazing!

Richard J.

Really nice, easy to print and to assemble, thank for your work

Julie Colombrito

I dont really like the look of " fuzzy skin " so if I print this without that setting will the pieces still go together alright ?

Apryl Satterlee

Printed beautifully! Now I'm going to NEED all the fairy houses to be tealights! Love, Love, Love it!

Sch0ening's Hazard Maps

imma need you to keep making these for everyone season/ holiday. hahaha. before too long im going to have shelves full of them!

Becky Glenn

I know we can resize but is it meant to be so small or are we supposed to resize larger? thank you, I love it! I love all your designs!

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot Helix! Glad the timing was perfect! 😅

PA1 MAKER

My software is really not made for morphological/organic modeling... ☹️ I have to learn other softwares, which is time consuming and i don't have a lot of free time... But slowly learning blender... 🙂😉

PA1 MAKER

That's one thing i hate about Patreon. Being able to upload pictures in the comments would be really great.

PA1 MAKER

Wow, thank you so much Jacqueline! 😊

PA1 MAKER

Thanks a lot for the kind words! I really appreciate! 😊

PA1 MAKER

Nice to read that!!! Thanks, I appreciate! 😊

PA1 MAKER

Hello Julie! Yes they will still fit together, but you'll have a little bit of play between them. But it should be alright, don't think you're gonna have some trouble if you don't put the fuzzy skin. 😉

sarah jeffrey

any chance you can advise to what glue you use? im struggling to fone one that doesnt go white thankyou .... slicing now ...

PA1 MAKER

Hi Becky! You can resize it if you want, but all the fairy houses are approximately 90mm to 100mm high.

PA1 MAKER

Hi Isabelle, I am using Autodesk Inventor. I've been working with this software since 2001. A great software, especially for mechanical purposes, but costly. Fusion 360 is very similar. Would be a great alternative for me, but we need inventor for my wife's customers.

PA1 MAKER

Hi Sarah! I use conventional CA glue. I had some white stains problems in the past just like you. The trick is to use very small quantities of glue. Put a small drop here and there, instead of all around a perimeter. With only a few drops, you will get a nice bond without having a lot of fumes. The white stains are caused by the fumes of CA glue staining the parts. If you wanna be sure you won't have any stains, look for 3d Gloop, its a glue specific for 3d printed parts. You can also look at Bob Smith Industries. They make CA glue that won't stain the parts, and they are made especially for hobbyists. They have a really huge variety of glues, some can even be debonded.

I've had really good luck with E6000, too, but it is a much longer set time and remains slightly flexible. For super glue, I like grabbing a thicker one (Gorilla even has one with a nail polish-like brush) to try and avoid visible lines of adhesive. I generally super glue stuff like the window backs on, but then E6000 other stuff in place (trees, chimney, etc) so they have a little more "flex" and don't pop off as easily as super glue can sometimes with impacts.

sarah jeffrey

Oohh just found them thankyou ... any you would recommend p.s 3d gloop is in the pipeline :D thanmyou so much for your response

Becky Glenn

thank you for the speedy reply, I think it's really cute the size and easy to display several of the fairy houses this way. I just wasn't sure if we were supposed to resize it or not, I might try one large one in the future but for now I LOVE the cute size of it. It gives me the ability to put all the fairy houses on a shelf in my craftroom. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful designs!

Maygan Holley

My all time favorite that I've used so far is Locktite Professional LIQUID(NOT the gel) takes a drop and it bonds the PLA together quickly.

3Demoniak

Thanks 🙏 You did 50% of the job ! 🤗

3Demoniak

For that, you can activate a Chat in Patreon ! I follow Several artists and we share prints and filaments used there !

I’m having issues with printing the green base. I’m on my second try and not sure what to do next. The first layer comes out great but the grid pattern is chipping away at every pass.

Frédéric Lallement

I only did the fuzzy skin ( I changed the values to suit my will ) , not on the trees :)

Darren Gerbrandt

Just wondering as I have a few other Patreons that do it, do you share the current months creations with your patreons on MyMiniFactory, just thinking it might be easier to share that way than maintaining a download repository and sharing a new link/password each month and I see you do have your creations on MyMiniFactory, or at least some of them.

Jimbob

Yes! Would be amazing to have the previous houses as tealight versions too.

Becky Glenn

I had problems with the base, printed 2 fine, then 2 that were damaged, so rechecked everything, then reprinted and they printed fine. I know that doesn't help you, but I wanted you to know you weren't alone with that particular piece. I think it was my fault or my printer somehow though.

Shannon Hudick

Thank you for the reply. Yes I did do much maintenance and re calibrations thinking something was going wrong on that end. I ended up giving up on the model and thankfully had only printed the window frame/door and fence.

C LR

Just ran into one small error, we'll see if actually an issue shortly. But I get an error between 25.8-26.6 are empty layers, when slicing with Orca using fuzzy skin. I can see the same thing without fuzzy skin on, looks like the top of the tree should end at 25.8mm high, but for some reason it adds seams up to 26.6mm. Printing it anyways, despite the "error" but figured I'd let you know this might be a thing (and probably slicer specific, not sure). It only happens on the shorter tree for me. Update - they do print fine, just a weird error you can still just send it. :)

Brenda Love

Do you have a suggestion on reducing the stringing. I had a major problem when printing the fence. I used a silk filament. I have a Snapmaker A250 and turned on the retraction option.

Shelbys Treasures

I don’t know if it’s just me but the trees and lamp post are a bit smaller than the holes on the base. What should I scale them to, to fit?

Alan Simpson

Hello, was wondering if the lamps used in the train station could be used with this design, actually any design for that matter, for the purpose of adding wired lights?
