This one was heavily requested and ridiculously fun to make. A special shout out again to Jacob Fridman for helping me research for it. He predicted many who would make my top 10. :)

Also, a welcome to all the new Patreon supporters who have started donating in recent weeks. I am forever grateful by your generosity.

So who was YOUR favorite failed presidential candidate?

In this video, we’re gonna focus on those losers. Er, uh...those losing candidates. While there have been 45 different individuals who have served as President in American history, there have been tens of thousands of people who have run for President, and yes most of them stood little chance of winning. Approximately 55 of them were actual contenders, meaning it appeared they had at least a solid chance of winning going into the final weeks of their campaigns. My criteria for qualified candidates is simple: They had to be a major contender They had to run before the year 2000 They couldn’t later win the Presidency. Now, how I picked these top 10 is also simple. John McCain. My dad and biological mom who are democrats even said they would of prefer him over George W. Bush when both were going for the Republican Spot.

Naterade

Tulsi Gabbard. Honorable mention- John McCain. I don’t share his politics, nor did I like his VP choice. However, he was a decent and honorable man.

Al Gore is my top failed Presidential candidate. Biased opinion, Al Gore like Tilden got screwed.

Also Wendell Willkie was a solid guy. Henry Wallace is also another of my favorite failed candidates.

Waterfort

Its between Weaver, Bryan, and LaFollette. All solid guys.

Great video! As an Illinoisan, pretty excited to see John B. Anderson on this list, and simultaneously sad to see Adlai E. Stevenson II not make the list, but I get it - Dwight D. Eisenhower was pretty consequential, so it might be especially hard to argue that Stevenson would've been a better president than Ike. And we Illinoisans are spoiled anyway, with Obama, Reagan, Grant, and Lincoln all being at least partially from Illinois.
