Well, here it is, the big Oregon Trail video. We rented a Tesla and drove the Oregon Trail in 8 days. Yep, all 2,100 miles of it. I brought the whole family, and Mrs. Beat and our daughters even helped film. It was definitely an adventure. I had at least 20 hours of footage (mostly thanks to my GoPro mounted on the windshield), but I was able to edit all of it down into a 1 hour, 46 minute documentary. It's the longest video I've ever made and biggest I've ever made. I was able to make it because of your support on here. THANK YOU. Perhaps I can one day do the Santa Fe Trail next or the National Road? Eh?

The Oregon Trail! I came for the adventure. I stayed for the dysentery.

Oh hey the End of the Oregon trail is like 30-40 minutes south of me depending on traffic The Columbia River Gorge sure is gorgeous isn't it?

Shedd Badgers

Can't wait to see this go public. It's starting off very interesting so far...

Matt Beat

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm nervous releasing this for some reason.

What a great watch! I just finished it and enjoyed so many aspects of the video! I'm looking forward to the follow-up. BTW, I had to look up "squishy" toys. Hah!

Matt Beat

THANK YOU. :) Oh squishy toys are all the rage these days with the youth. hahaha

This video brought so much up for me. My son Erik, grandson Zachary (ten years old), and I drove to northern Idaho from Iowa in mid-August for a funeral. We got there in 28 hours of non-stop driving. The landscape of your trip was reminiscent of the landscape we drove through. Stayed for 5 days and then drove back. I had to apologies to my grandson for being grumpy, so I understand about traveling with family and being grumpy. Also, I used to drive from the Seattle area past Pendleton down to Baker City, OR once in a while to visit my daughter who lived near the Snake River--a few miles North of Baker City. We watched the Big eclipse from a few years ago there near the Snake River. She used to like to camp near the river and would amateur gold mine in the area. My daughter was in Boise when she passed away. What an adventure. On the way home we stopped long enough at Yellowstone to see Old Faithful and then stopped at Mt. Rushmore. I hope you and your family are up for more adventures but maybe less stress and time constraints next time! Best to you all!
