In episode 77 of Supreme Court Briefs, an old dude wants to buy a handgun to defend his home after it is robbed, but Chicago won't let him. So he sues their butts.

Just a heads up...I plan on releasing more Supreme Court Briefs videos than Compared videos in 2024, mostly since I'm just not as into making the Compared videos as much anymore.

In other news, I am headed the Truman Library and home in Independence, Missouri next week to film and interview Truman experts. Expect a Truman video probably in April!

Thank you for your continued support. :)

Chicago opened up a flood of lawsuits, many by the National Rifle Association, against local and state governments across the country. That said, it has not won ALL those lawsuits, and since the decision lower courts have upheld that bans on certain guns is still constitutional, as well as additional restrictions on how people can both get and carry guns. Today, around 45% of American households own at least one gun, and the United States, by far, has the highest gun ownership rate in the world.

Ah can't wait to watch this video. This case was in 2010 when SCOTUS incorporated the 2nd amendment to the states and local cities.

3 minutes in and its like "hold the phone." "your telling me that a unamed lawyer put up a argument that got the left to support the 2nd amendment by supporting the 14th amendment thereby getting the two sides to work together. and not only is this lawyer not president of the united states but his or her name isnt even mentioned?!!"
