Eclipse 🌓 New illustration preview + process (Patreon)

Hi Patrons !

I spent the weekend painting the Moon & Sun sketch you liked in my previous iPad post !

Here's the sketch on paper :

Outlined the important lines in black so I can still see them under the first layer of acryla gouache !

First painting session (~1h30) :

I struggled with the Sun's face - I didn't like it even on the initial sketch and I painted her face 3 times... I then gave up and fixed it on Procreate 🤷‍♀️
Final illustration (edited in Procreate) :

I tried to fix the one on the left in Procreate as well, still didn't look good so I sketched a whole new face, changed the angle a bit, and made her more "open" since she seemed very stiff on the first version.

I like the final result but I'm bummed out the original doesn't look as good 🥲
But I'm happy with the Moon, I like the dress !
