Hello Patrons !

Here's a new painting I finished a few days ago : Athena !

I have been wanting to paint something with Athena for a while now but I never knew how to represent her - something fun ? Serious ? Traditional ? Modern ?

Over the years I sketched a bunch of Athenas, and I finally found a composition that I liked ! So I painted it right away.

I get lots of questions about how I paint gradients, so I thought I'd share the process with you !
Tips : don't add too much water to your paint, and it's best to paint two layers of each color (in my opinion) so that your paint is opaque, and the brush strokes aren't too visible !

I like her look here ! I think I prefer her face here than the finished one

Final result !

Details !

I liked how this one turned out ! I know it could have been a lot better in some ways, but at that point I don't know what looks good or not anymore 😅

I'm slowly getting out of my art block - I think I'll paint a movie scene/painting study this week to not think too much about the final result, and focus on the process.

I hope you'll like it !! 🦉🧡

Thanks again for the support on Patreon and for the kind words !! 🧡💫

Hugs,

Sibylline

Thanks for the little gradient tutorial and the tip about double layering, it was super beneficial. I’m a new patron and hope we get to see more of these little tutorials in the future
