Secret Gateway 💫 Process ! [the Coven Show] (Patreon)

Hello Patrons,

Here's some process shots for the Secret Gateway piece for the Coven show I finished earlier this week !

Thank you for the lovely comments about the sketch in my previous post, I was so happy to know you liked it while I was painting it 🥰

Here's the sketch on watercolor paper + outlines painted with black acryla gouache (so I can still see the important lines underneath the first layer of paint) !

I took a picture at the end of each painting session, which is about 1h30 - 2 hours long !

People on Instagram were surprised I used ash yellow/olive green for the Witch's Cabinet because I never really use these colors. So to match the Witch's Cabinet, I thought I'd add some of the same green to this Secret Gateway illustration. I just love it when a collection of paintings match when they're all displayed together !

In the end I think it worked pretty well - still not my usual color palette but it might become a favorite combo 👀

Only 2 illustrations left for the gallery show ! I am going to finish #5 today, and will start painting the last one this weekend 💫
