Hello Patrons,

Here's a new painting for you !
I did another Celestial Friends illustration featuring pigeons this time (●'◡'●)
I decided to make it bigger than usual because I am having another solo show next year, and I want the pieces to be slightly bigger and interesting to look at in real life !

Sketch :

As usual, black outlines for the important lines I still want to see under the first layer of gouache :

Deep blue + black 🖤

Adding more blue since I don't want to waste the paint I used for the top of the character !

How I paint a gradient !
1 - the color I chose for the top of the legs
2 - I know I wanted to last color at the bottom to be blue, so I slowly added more blue to my first color.
3 - Adding more blue ! I would recommend a big flat brush to create this dry on dry effect !
4 - Last color of this gradient, blue (again). I then painted to other leg and added some shadows. Picked an ice blue for the shadow to make it pop/look more interesting and cold !

More pigeons and a touch of coral for the feathers and feet.

Finished painting !

Details :

The palette :I hope you'll like it !!
I've always wanted to paint pigeons, and I'm glad I finally did. I love their colors and how they're part of our human/urban world.

Thanks again for your support on Patreon !! 💙❄️✨

Didn't take time to comment but absolutely love ☀️❤️ I particularly like the composition, you always find new ways to make it interesting 😊

Do you use water to thin your paints or do you just use it right out of the tube? I just got your mossery kit and have not used acrylic gouache before just regular and I’m unfamiliar with the process

Hi Gabi ! I usually mix it with a bit of water and do two layers of paint to make it more opaque ! I hope you'll like the kit !! Thank you 💙
