Hello dear Patrons,

As I mentioned it last week, I am working on a series of 3 mermaids - I spent 5 days on mermaid #2 and you know what... I don't like it ! πŸ˜…
I finished the painting yesterday and I thought... What if I started her whole face over again ? πŸ˜› So I painted over her face for the 5th time and now she looks like this :

I am tired of this illustration so I'll let it rest for a few days.
I took a picture and edited it in Procreate to see how I could fix her face.
Here's the final result :

Her eyes were supposed to be opened but closed eyes seem like the easiest way for me not to ruin it again (βœΏβ—‘β€Ώβ—‘)

I will take some time this week to paint her face on the actual painting πŸ˜ͺ This mermaid was supposed to be part of my solo show, but if I can't fix it or if I'm not happy with the finished result, I won't add it to the collection.

Anyways, I still wanted to share it here since I spent so much time on it.
Also, the face is such a tricky part for me to paint, this is a great example of how a simple detail can ruin the vision I have of a painting and the overall excitement about it ! It happens and it's ok, because even if it doesn't make it to the solo show, I can still use it for prints if you guys like it ! πŸ‘

I'll share the process later this week !

Thank you for your support on Patreon !! πŸŒΈβœ¨

Hugs,

Sibylline

This. Is. Magic. And perfectly captures my spouse and my best friend. I call my spouse Peach and my best friend loves the ocean so I refer to her as my sea siren. These colors are also her favorite color palette. 😭🫢🏼
