Arcane Show 🖤✖️ Dark Vi [Preview + Process] (Patreon)

Hello Patrons,

I am part of the Arcane Exhibition at Gallery Nucleus opening next week, and I just finished the painting a few minutes ago ! I'm super late, I will send it out tomorrow (no time to say a proper goodbye to Vi !)

Here's the digital sketch printed on paper, I wanted to paint on a size A3 so I printed it on 2 sheets of A4 paper :

Then I traced it on watercolor paper using my light box (light table ?) :

Then I outlined the important lines with black acryla gouache :

Bright pink is a big part of Arcane's aesthetic so I started with a pink base (we can't really see on the picture but I used neon pink) :

What it looked like after the first painting session yesterday :

Then the second session this morning :

And the finished painting ! Done this afternoon :
(This is actually a picture of a white piece of paper - I edited it in Photoshop and added the scan of my painting - the paint was still fresh and the paper was crinkled (not sure if it's the right word 😳 you can see it on the picture I used as the cover for this post). Instead of taping the original painting to my desk to make it flat, I opted for the safest option !

Details :

Hopefully I didn't miss any important details ! 😳

I really dreaded the moment I had to actually paint it because Arcane is good and perfect that I thought my style and my painting wouldn't do it justice - but I loved painting it, I did it in 2 days (which wasn't the initial plan), and ended up loving the result ! It never happens, I usually am ok with my art, but this one I really love. Probably because it's different from what I usually do and I had the best time doing it, and it's also a show that I enjoyed and I look up to the artists who have worked on it. Anyways ! I hope you'll like it too !! (❁´◡`❁)

A few of you suggested The Pit for the title and I thought it fitted the illustration perfectly. So thank you so much for helping me ! 🌼

The exhibition starts in 11 days (I'm very late), May 10 to May 25 and the reception is next week on Saturday, May 10 from 5PM to 8PM.

That's it for today,
