Hello dear Patrons,
Finally ! A new painting !
I spent some time browsing Pinterest last week to find beautiful images/color combinations to help be *inspired* again, and I found a few that made want to get back to painting !
I also really wanted to try this pad I bought while I was in LA - the paper seemed very smooth and I couldn't wait to see how acryla gouache would work with it :
Here's the image I fell in love with on Pinterest (illustration by Valentine Sandberg π):
I have always loved a minimalist design, and it's definitely not how I usually work. Plus the negative space is so interesting ! So I decided to make my own version of this illustration just to get back to painting, and see how it would go with this new paper I've never used before.
Here's the sketch :
I've always been a perfectionist when it comes to details - and that's probably why the thing that I've heard the most about my art is that it looks "digital".
I want to start painting more loosely, think less about the little details and focus on the character. I really liked doing this with the blossoms in the Persephone painting, so I decided to try again with this little experiment painting.
Here's the first session :
I finished it the next day : I didn't use black, just pastel colors. I didn't outline every single detail, which was freeing in a way !
It's a very simple, small painting but it fell nice spending just a few hours on it. I want to experiment more this month !
I hope you'll like it !! πΈ
