Hi ! 👋

Here's a new work in progress for Mermay 4 ! I wanted to do something simple to take a break from backgrounds, and challenged myself with a new color palette instead !

I picked teal and red this time, instead of pink and blue.

🦀 I sketched the mermaid on my iPad, printed it out and used my light table to draw it on Canson Montval paper, with a brown Prismacolor pencil.

🦀 First layer of ink (Colorex by Pébéo)

I mixed green and cyan for her skin and magenta and yellow for her hair and tail.

🦀 Layer of marker !

Skin : Pastel Blue / Promarker

Tail : Salmon Pink / Copic Ciao

Hair : Vermillon / Copic Ciao

Tail : Abyss Green / Copic Ciao

🦀 Outlines

I inked the mermaid with a mix of Burnt Sienna and magenta (still with Colorex ink by Pébéo).

🦀 And as usual, I added some white details with white gouache from Winsor & Newton, and enhanced some details with a brown fineliner by Steadtler.

Here's the picture I'll post on Instagram today !

That's it for today !

Have a lovely week 🌈

Hugs,

Sibylline

The green colors are stunning! They remind me of Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice!
