Hi there ! 👋

Arteza sent me some watercolors, brushes and two (big) sketchbooks last month. When I have some free time, I sketch portraits & studies - most of the time I take inspiration from Instagram - and color it with gouache, ink or markers to try out the paper. So far this sketchbook is filled with random little drawings.
I tried different color palettes, some are very bright, some are pastel. I never really take the time to experiment with colors and techniques, so I thought having to try out this sketchbook was the perfect opportunity to do so !

I started this sketchbook with studies of Klimt's paintings.
It's funny how I spent more time on the big colored portrait of Judith but I still prefer the tiny doodle of her !

Water Serpents study

Then I did this very pink & blue page with Winsor & Newton gouache. My favorite part of this page is the tiny hand study !

I did this page with some ink leftovers from a previous illustration and didn't want it to go to waste. I am not a big fan of green but ended up using it a lot in the sketchbook 🌿

This might be my favorite palette - pastel colors + dark purple red ! I only used gouache and colored pencils here.

More green leftovers and some cats !

T o o l s  :

🌸 Colorex ink
🌸  Winsor & Newton gouache
🌸  Ironlak colored pencils
🌸 Prismacolor pencil

I think the sketchbook is nice (it has 100 sheets of 130g/m² paper). It has a good texture, a little grainy but still smooth (it's a drawing book so it's not meant for water based paints, just sketching. I guess ink is fine too !).
It's a little too big and heavy for me. This format (A4) isn't handy and I wouldn't travel with it or bring it with me to draw outside.

You can purchase the sketchbook here

That's it for today ! I'll make a post about Arteza watercolors soon 🐣

Thanks again for supporting my work on Patreon !! 🧡🌈✨

PS : Moonstones, I ordered new Mermay mini prints and I should receive them tomorrow ! I'll start sending them to your homes on June 6th !

Hugs,

Sibylline

Lovely doodles Sibylline! The pink and blue combinations are my favourite <3 How do you manage to make studies look so neat and on point? I definitely need lots of sketching and erasing before I get one accurate line orz You're amazing!

Franchement j'adore ! 💜💜😻😻

I adore every single one of these pages! I'm partial to the pink and blue, but all the colour combinations are so beautiful! I love the leaf and the little unicorn in the Tudor style picture, and love that leafy ear piece on the pink girl! Thank you for sharing these✨

I love all of them !!! But I have fallen in love with the sketch of the lady and the mini-unicorn 🥰

Your sketchbooks are so nice! It really helps to see more tests and a little less finished stuff too instead of staring at perfect artwork all the time which sometimes makes it hard to start to draw :)
