Hi Patrons ! I hope you're doing well 🌞
Today I thought I would talk about the past two weeks. As some of you might already know, the Kickstarter campaign for my new artbook ended on July 9th ! I felt relieved and happy I could finally take a break and put this project aside for a few days. June has been exhausting 😅
Last week I went to Paris with my sister. I lived there for 3 years from 2016 to 2019 and I loved living in Paris. Going back there is always a good idea. Paris might sounds a bit busy and loud and not relaxing at all, but it feels like home, and summer there is pretty quiet, too !
Left : my sister in le Jardin des Tuileries. It's a big park in the middle of Paris near le Louvre.
Right : a lovely district in Montmartre called Abbesses. I used to live here and it's my favorite place in Paris. It's just like a little village.
We went to see an exhibition "Peintres Femmes" ("Women Painters") at Musée du Luxembourg. Paintings are from 1780 to 1830 and were all painted by women. Unfortunately most of them have been forgotten.
I love the painting on the right, it depicts a scene from an all women atelier back in the day, when they were not allowed to be in the same class as male students.
Right : "Une jeune fille à genoux", Aimée Brune, 1839
Left : "Atelier des jeunes filles", Cartherine-Caroline Cogniet-Thévenin, 1836
You probably heard of it - The Shakespeare and Company bookstore 📚 We went there because my sister never went inside the bookstore. We always pass by but never go inside. It's such a lovely store ! It doesn't feel like a shop though, more like a cozy place to read. It still has some medieval architecture here and there, old details that makes it look so unique ! It kind of looks like Merlin's house in The Sword and the Stone ✨
We then went to the Yves-Saint Laurent museum on our last day.
The museum is in his actual building/office which was a lovely surprise. As you can see we were alone in his office - it felt magical.
Left : My sister and me in YSL's office (crazy)
Right : YSL's desk (I can't believe how small his desk is !!).
To end this little collection of pictures, here's a couple of cute dogs on les Champs Elysées, and a cute storefront (I love storefronts !).
That was 3 days in Paris, I hope you liked it 🥰 I didn't take too many pictures as I really wanted to enjoy the moments without thinking of taking my phone out all the time 🤗
I got my second shot of vaccine this week and got sick !! Not a surprise but it felt worse than the first shot. I haven't been able to work much these past few days, but I am feeling better now and I am going to prepare everything for the shop update on July 22nd ✨ the shop will be open for you a few hours early as usual !
That's it for today, I'll post about the new products soon so you can see what will be available 🌞
Thanks again for your support on Patreon ! 🧡🧡🧡
Hugs,
