New illustration 🌸 What should I name it ? (Patreon)

Hi Patrons,

Finally, a new illustration ! 🌞

I took some pictures while painting but I couldn't take too many because I was recording the process with my phone at the same time.

This is the first step : I print out the sketch I did on my iPad and trace it with a light box on watercolor paper (I use Canson XL Watercolor paper).

Some progress on the flowers - as you can see there are 4 layers of colors here, and I ended up adding more along the way ! I usually don't plan ahead how detailed the final painting will be.

I had so much fun painting the vase ! I have to admit, this illustration was an excuse to paint a beautiful vase. I've been willing to paint one in a long time, and planned on doing another illustration that completes this one - a mermaid in a Greek vase 🙇‍♂️

As you can see I used a limited color palette - beige, red, coral and blue.

The vase is based on an actual vase, I can't find the image I used but it looked a lot like this one - I wanted the pattern to look accurate and harmonious !

2/ Resting
3/ Safe Place / Happy place
