🐍 Mini Paintings for Microdose Show @ Nucleus Portland 🐍 (Patreon)

Hello Patrons !

I will be part of Microdose show at Nucleus Portland next month ! It's a mini painting show, and they have to be smaller than 8cm x 8cm.

So I decided to make 7cm x 7cm paintings of Gorgons ! I brainstormed a bit and couldn't find a theme I liked. So I thought, what do I enjoy painting lately ? What did you guys like ? So I sketched a bunch of Gorgons designs and really liked how they turned out !
I picked 4 of my favorite sketches :

I took a picture, cleaned them on Procreate and drew more details over them.

Then I printed them out and traced them on mixed media paper (it's a Strathmore pad I bought - didn't realize it was 570gm 😅 but it was perfect for these little paintings !)

Hand for scale

As usual, black outline first !

The ugly stage

One more to go !

I really like how they turned out - I didn't plan the colors in advance so that was fun.
Plus I didn't want these little paintings to be super clean like my other illustrations - I wanted the pink background to be prominent, and the paint to be less opaque than usual so we can see the different layers and some pencil lines.

We can't really see it on the pictures but the background is neon pink !

Which one is your favorite ?? 😺

The colors I used :

Paintings will be sold at the gallery first, then on their online store ! More info on their website here
