They broke the (black) mold after Modcon One (Patreon)

This unassuming storefront was the entrance to the space that the first Modcon- May 1999, Toronto, Ontario, Canada - was held. Close to Northbound Leather, down a nondescript side street, and lightly infested with black mold, this space became a Nodal Point in the modern history of surgical body art and modification.

Getting spaces for events that were, by their nature, legally questionable, was always a chore. Attendees of the Modcon and ScarWars events, god bless them, often risked their own safety to join the fun.
