Beginning with their second issue, PFIQ (Piercing Fans International Quarterly) Magazine featured a series of step by step articles- Pierce with a Pro- on how to perform basic and advanced body piercings. While it would be unthinkable now, in 1978 the concept of a professional piercer was still years off, and unless you lived in Los Angeles and had access to Jim Ward/the Gauntlet, the majority of piercings were performed in homes and back rooms by people to whom piercing was a passion/hobby. Even some of the piercings in Pierce with a Pro represented the first time the piercers performed them, putting them on equal footing with underground piercers like Sid Diller, Jack Yount, et all.
This represents the complete issue index for the Pierce with a Pro articles; the videos will be discussed in future posts.
