There was something really special about getting a new copy of PFIQ, Piercing World, or Body Art in the mail. At best, the quarterly in Piercing Fans International Quarterly was an estimate, with some issues seemingly taking forever to arrive. But when they did- you'd pore over every word, study every picture, commit as much as you could to memory.

The trouble in finding niche piercing/body art media made it all the more special; on any given day in 2020 more piercing photos are uploaded to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter than in every issue combined* but in the 1970s, 80s, and even early 1990s- these were the outlet for finding folks who shared the same interests.

This video- filmed in the late 1980s at the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida home/studio of Sailor Sid Diller, features Master Piercer Jack Yount checking out issues of PFIQ and Piercing World, and sharing a wonderful anecdote about a trip to the mechanic.
