As fallible as memory can be, primary source documentation is still the best method in recording oral histories. Folks who do what we do here at Sacred- shifting through decades worth of data, images, photos, videos, and ephemera, and trying to apply context- aggregate it all and share our thoughts on the materials scrutinized.

But none of that is as rad as listening to Annie Sprinkle and Veronica Vera tell the stories first hand.

I was lucky enough to meet them at the 2019 APP Conference- and despite being a longtime fan of them both was able to maintain a calm, cool demeanor. (I was a total gushing fanboy who practically levitated when Annie hugged me.)

We'd done an article on Annie's co-documentation of Fakir Musafar's 1981 NYC visit in the premiere issue of Nodal Points- discussing Fakir's version in PFIQ and Annie's in Velvet Talks- so getting to hear her tell the story in person added so much nuance and life to the print versions of their initial meeting.

Despite bringing fancy 4k recording equipment, I ended up shooting what I could of her class on my iPhone, so while the quality of the video could be much, much better- the quality of the presenters was top notch.
