Hotel rooms, booked at the host hotels of the tattoo conventions that began popping up with greater regularity in the 1980s, (reaching their zenith in the 1990s, in my estimation- the 2000s found them diluted and far too frequent) often became ad hoc piercing studios- providing a space for convention attendees traveling from cities without a local piercer to meet up, drop their drawers, and add a new piercing before returning home.
This unnamed gent picked up a new quiche piercing from Master Piercer Jack Yount at a convention in the late 1980s.
