John Dagion Tattooing (public edit 1m 9s) (Patreon)
Content
John Dagion wrote trucker erotica.
A lot of it, in fact.
In the pages of 18 Wheeler, and T.R.A.S.H., and the volumes of collected material that came after them, he shared "real" stories of truckers, hitchhikers, carnies, roughs, thugs, and other masculine archetypes cruising the highways and byways of America, meeting up for anonymous encounters, and living to tell the tale.
He was also a working tattoo artist, apprenticed by Ernie White of New Jersey. John was a journeyman tattooer; never really attained any renown or innovations in technique or style, just went into the shop and did the work on walk-ins.
He maintained a friendship with Sailor Sid Diller, whom he featured on the cover of an issue of his T.R.A.S.H. (True Revelations and Strange Happenings) zine, until Sid's death in 1990.
Sid filmed this video of JD tattooing a traditional eagle in 1986 on VHS in his South Florida home; thirty five years later we're pleased to be presenting it in it's entirety for the first time*.
