Unique Landing Page. (Patreon)

I'm starting to put together issue five of our Nodal Points Zine, with the goal of not letting two years lapse in between issues like we did between three and four- hopefully things will run a little more smoothly this time!

One of the features we're doing is on pre-internet contact groups like Ball Club Quarterly, Pin Pals, Unique, U-Nik, etc; when it was considerably harder to meet people who shared your modification interests, these postal exchange groups were an oasis for people who had a desire to find community.

I was a member of Unique- an offshoot of the Ball Club from publisher Ken Schein- for several years, even creating their WWW landing page in an attempt to get them more subscribers. In conversations with Mr. Schein, I learned that my own site, spcOnline, and the work I was assisting BME's Shannon Larratt with on the /Extreme subsection, helped kill his subscriber base.

There's a lot to unpack there.

This was the landing page for folks to subscribe to his postal exchange club, made by Unique member AWAP (I still have that AOL email address) from the mid/late 1990s.

We don't have a projected date of completion for the next Nodal Points, but I think y'all will love it.
