In the next issue of Nodal Points (issue 5) we're going to be taking a look at pre-internet postal contact groups that catered to devotees of body modification (and big balls) during a period where randomly meeting someone with a subincision was about as likely as getting bitten by a shark while simultaneously  being hit by lightning (actual statistics may vary). 

Here we have tattoo and piercing fan (and occasional ad hoc piercer) Emil Gundelach, photographed during a theme night at the 1986 Knoxville, TN tattoo convention. Emil wore tattoo work from Cliff Raven. Thom DeVita, Jeff Denoncour, Danny Boy, and others. 

Emil appeared in Charles Gatewood's Erotic Tattooing & Body Piercing Vol V, and as a lifelong tattoo fan, reportedly continued getting worked on into his 90s. 

While going through pages from various contact clubs, I noticed an ad in PFIQ's PIN PALS that pairs up with Emil's age (at the time), location, and modifications. Little treasures like this are always fun to find.
