International Lizard Appreciation Day (Patreon)

Today we celebrate the birthday of onetime PhD candidate/current sideshow performer Erik Sprague, who's spent the last few decades performing acts of wonder under the names Spidergod5, Amago, and most famously, the Lizard Man. 

This photo was taken by photographer Philip Barbosa, the photographer who documented all of the Modcon (and the first Scar Wars) events, in the summer of 1999 at the inaugural show. Erik had yet to start blocking out his scales; his tattoos were primarily black "tribal" work, with his tongue already split, teeth filed, and forehead ridge implants in place.
