We're going to be soliciting folks via our public page soon, but as always, y'all get a heads up first-

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the first MODCON Event. Originally co-created by Shannon Larratt and I, the goal of MODCON was to take 'extreme' or 'advanced' modifications out of the shadows and into a more celebratory, community focused space. Time will tell what the full legacy of those early gatherings will be, but, at least for that first one, it may be one of my proudest accomplishments in my body mod resume.

While I can't give all of the details yet, I can say that I'm going to be expanding my EVOLUTION OF A SUBCULTURE article into a full, multi-media presentation later on this year, and I'd love to have memories shared by folks who attended any of the Modcon events; staff, practitioners, guests, etc, for both the presentation and the accompanying catalog.

If you attended, and would like to participate - the details are below. Don't hesitate to reach out here or at sacreddebris@gmail.com for more information!

Subject: Invitation to Share Your MODCON Experience for the 25th Anniversary Presentation

I hope this message finds you well. As we approach the 25th anniversary of the first MODCON, I am reaching out to you with an invitation to contribute to a presentation commemorating this milestone event.

MODCON was a pivotal gathering for body modification practitioners and enthusiasts, and over the years it has fostered connections, sparked creativity, and left lasting impressions on countless individuals like yourself.

To mark this occasion, I am putting together a presentation that celebrates the legacy of MODCON through the eyes of its attendees, staff, and practitioners. Whether you attended one event or several between 1999 and 2004, your perspective is invaluable in capturing the essence of what MODCON meant to our community.

I invite you to share your experiences, anecdotes, and reflections on MODCON in a short video no longer than five minutes. This is an opportunity to reminisce about your best memories, reflect on how attending one of our events has impacted your life and career, and convey what the event has meant to you personally.

Please ensure that your video is shot horizontally in a well-lit room and uploaded to Dropbox or Google Drive at maximum resolution. If you prefer not to submit a video, a paragraph or two for inclusion in the accompanying event catalog would be equally appreciated.

Your contribution will not only enrich the presentation but also serve as a testament to the enduring legacy of MODCON and the vibrant community it has cultivated over the past quarter-century.

Thank you in advance for considering this invitation. Your participation would make a significant difference in honoring the spirit of MODCON and commemorating its 25th anniversary in a meaningful way.

Should you have any questions or require further information, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Warm regards,

Shawn Porter
