Hi Everyone,Today there’s some massive changes, and additions to Thunderhill!Firstly, there’s now 24 different layouts, all with functional timing and AI.

The layouts are:Five Mile, Five Mile Reverse, Five Mile Hill Bypass, Five Mile Hill Bypass Reverse, Five Mile Double Bypass, Five Mile Double Bypass Reverse, Five Mile West Bypass, Five Mile West Bypass Reverse, Middle Hill Combined, Middle Hill Combined Reverse, Middle Hill Combined Bypass, Middle Hill Combined Bypass Reverse, Three Mile, Three Mile Reverse, Three Mile Bypass, Three Mile Bypass Reverse, Two Mile East, Two Mile East Reverse, Two Mile East Bypass, Two Mile East Bypass Reverse, Two Mile West, Two Mile West Reverse, Two Mile West Bypass, Two Mile West Bypass ReverseIf there’s any I missed I’ve made it easier for me to add and edit layouts now, so they’ll be in the next update if they’re mentioned.

Along with this the following layouts now also have full replay cameras.

Five Mile, Five Mile Reverse, Five Mile Hill Bypass, Five Mile Hill Bypass Reverse, Three Mile, Three Mile Reverse. The file size has been super optimised, so despite the additional layouts, the download size is now ~170MB as apposed to over 1GB as it was before.I've used some new techniques that have been applied to my more recent tracks, and used them on Thunderhill, to improve the look of things like the terrain, and road surfaces.Optimised textures, leading to better performanceTweaked lights to only come on at night, giving better performance in the day, as well as increased realism. All track layouts now work with 40 AI cars. Finally, you can see in the images, I have started working on the two skidpads. They're not yet available as layouts, but I aim to have them in the next update, alongside the completed replay cameras, and any other layouts people may need. One important note, After doing a billion hours of testing for the 24 layouts, I have noticed some bumps in the asphalt that need to be ironed out, so these will be sorted in the next update as well, I thought I'd got them all, but nope! They're mainly at the joins between tracks, and just after T1 on the west 2mile track. So, yeah, just be careful you dont go airbourne!

Just want to say I am experiencing the same issue. I would be open to having a debugging session if you are up for it! I did confirm it is just this track for me.

Pierre Barratt

Hello, I have the same issue as Ian and Mark K. Would be great to organize a call and remote desktop session to fix this. Much appreciated!

Ian Cooper

Just FYI, I joined Discord channel and Tyrone was quick to respond. Hopefully getting a session with him in the next few days and I can try to remember to report back here my solution if easy enough.

Ian Cooper

Also, nice improvement from previous track version!

Pierre Barratt

Cheers Ian, I've got a trackday on the 10th April at Thunderhill and need to get someone practice in!

Pierre Barratt

Thank you, your link helped. It all works now I've downloaded the most up to date data.

I've driven the Three Mile Hill layout in real-life and this is a great rendition of the track. I'm running the SKY GT pp filter and SOL/Pure. Looks awesome! If I can suggest, see if there's a way to make the parking area asphalt under the big tents. That's where we'd hang out during track days.

Daniel Lopez

Great track for the east! Really really close to real! West still says WIP, is there a eta on when its finishing? Going to it during March and wanna get some practice in!

Tian Mi

I'm not sure how feasible this is, but is there a way to enable a whole lot more cars for the 5 mile config? I'm captaining a Lemons team and want to my drivers to have some sense of chaos. For 2022 there were 120 cars that started the race day 1. I understand this may nuke my computer and accept all liability

Dongi Min

I think the West track had a regression; there's a huge dip right at the exit of turn 2 that upsets the car a lot.

Just me or does the 3 mile reverse bypass have the hill cones in the wrong place? They lead you to the normal hill not the bypass.

Timur Iskhodzhanov

Drove some laps on the West course and I think it's pretty close. The level of grip in T5 and T6 feels ~10% lower than it should be vs East section. Don't know if it's the surface properties or just camber geometry.

Timur Iskhodzhanov

The runoff area on the outside of T7W has two separate rough areas. They can be brutal through a DD steering wheel. It's not rare to go off there if you overshoot the braking zone. Similarly the area around the apex of T2W also looks like it has some rough areas, but I didn't go off track there as much yet.

Loving the updates. One suggestion that would help on the 3 mile realism is adding the 2 white lines that run perpendicular to the track in T1, T6, and T14. Those are great turn in points that people can use in real life.

In the map thunderhill two mile west, the AI cannot leave the pit during the trackday and weekend. Can you please fix it? Thanks!

Hello Mihai

Thank you! This is my favorite home track. Thank you!!

Neil

Awesome update! Thanks for the hard work!

Christian Guirguis

Really appreciate how you keep improving and maintaining the tracks. Thunderhill is how I found you and it's fantastic to have it done so well in a sim for practice. Thank you!

David Vrane

Tyrone, as always, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Jordan Nord

Now, a race with all layouts, one after the other! Yeaaah lets all get dizzy! I can't remember where I'm suppose to go xD

Tian Mi

Thanks for the update! For the next version is it possible to adjust the cones for the different layouts? For example, it's difficult to see which way to go on the 5 mile reverse layout without prior knowledge

rafael bueno

Wow man, now it's even better. It seems to me that the car didn't have a feeling of elasticity on the track as before, much better. And now with replays... perfect. Taking advantage of the dunsdale track, which is also top notch, the other cars don't start at the start, you could see that too...

Timur Iskhodzhanov

Happy New Year, and thanks for the update! I'll make sure to test it out in detail when I prep for my next real life track day there. What are those fireworks to the West from the West layout? The first time I saw smoke on the horizon I was confused, and a few laps later when I saw something like rockets launching, I got pretty scared.

Mark K

I can't get this track to work still. It shows on the track selection menu, however starting the game with the map selected results in the game going straight back to the menu after the screen goes briefly black. I have the shader pack installed etc. Not sure what the issue is. It happens using CM or otherwise.

Tyrone - Racetracks & Models

Hi Mark, If you've tried everything to get this to work, we can organise a call or something and I can remote into your PC and take a look and see what's going on?
