I also absolutely love this christmas special. Its one of the top 3 for me. If nobody has told you yet, there is a prequel to the next episode, which you definitely should watch before. It is called The Bells of St Johns: a Prequel.

Yeah, so this episode sees the beginning of the Great Intelligence who you've recently seen with the Second Doctor in The Abominable Snowmen & The Web of Fear, in the :London Underground in 1967. I think the reason for the two voices is because she has to put on a posh accent in order to have the job of governess.

This is one of my favorite Christmas specials as well! I am so excited for you to learn where this story goes. It's so nice to see the Doctor reinvigorated. And I love Vastra, Jenny, and Strax together again in this special.

Siobhan Linehan

Fantastic episode, definitely a favourite of mine. And the start of my favourite companion ever! Well I guess Asylum Of The Daleks was technically the start for her lol, but you know what I mean. I can't wait for you to see Clara's journey, she's SO important and just wonderful. I even have a Clara tattoo. 😊

Thanks for the heads up! I'll see if someone can track down a link for me so I don't accidentally get any spoilers.

I love Strax so much. Every time he's on screen is very enjoyable For the new Tardis interior. during the hiatus they moved to a new studio & it was too small for the previous Tardis set so they had to build a new one

It’s great that you like Clara! The mystery is definitely needed, I think since series 6 the writers got a bit lost with what to do next, so this is a well needed fresh start for Matt Smith. The chemistry with Jenna (Clara) is also fantastic, very different from his almost paternal role with Amy.

While it was great that they got Ian McKellen to take part in this episode, it has to be said that hearing Gandalf's distinctive tones emanating from a giant snowglobe wanting to rule the world was more than a bit disconcerting... :-)
