My fault for confusing you with the question 😂 I think it’s implied that Madeleine and Claudia’ relationship has become romantic by the time they meet up with Louis and Armand. I don’t really have a problem with their relationship because unlike her first relationship which was very much heavy petting and make out sessions, Claudia and Madeleine connected on a deeper level. Madeleine wasn’t drawn to Claudia the child but Claudia the person. And it’s not like when pervs say “she’s more mature than her age” Claudia’s actually in her 30s

I took the scene at the restaurant as implying that Rashid is a Talamasca agent working undercover to get info on Louis and Armand. I will LAUGH if in the Talamasca show, they reveal that his name is not actually Rashid and we have two fake Rashids.

It was fucked up what happened to Madeleine. Amazing what cruelty human will inflict on others in the perceived defence of morality. But on another point, I do wish they expanded on the complexity of what Madeleine did (aka sympathising with a Nazi soldier and sleeping with him). Particularly I would’ve liked to hear more about Claudia’s perspective on it given her awareness of racial dynamics. Does she understand Madeleine’s sympathy because of everything she’s seen with Louis and Lestat? Does she understand sympathising with a monster because she too as a vampire is a monster? Or does she not care because the Nazis and the war is a human issue and she’s removed herself from that now?

I think the romantic interests of Claudia are an intriguing twist on the normal problematic "teenage" vampire romance. A number of vampire stories have a specifically 200+ year old vampire and a high school student who is about 16. And the argument there is usually along the lines of they have been a teenager for 200 years and they are not 200 years old. But I find that reasoning problematic. So the 30 something vampire and the 20 something human seems almost more easily justified in my mind. At any rate it's interesting to see a twist on the trope in my opinion. Just a thought I had.

Small correction, Claudia is in the body of a 14 y/o, not 13 y/o. Not much better but still slightly better

Regarding the “Armand healing Louis’s cut” thing, we have seen this ability before! In S1E1, after Lestat feeds on Louis the first time, he heals the neck wound with his own blood. Armand does the same thing here, it’s just a very quick motion where he nicks himself with his own nail to use his blood to heal Louis.

Ooh will you watch the teaser for season 3?? It's so so good, and doesn't really reveal a lot, unless you're familiar with the story after this. But even if you are familiar, they've changed a lot so far so we truly don't know exactly what is in store for us

i saw armand calling claudia lioncourt as him thinking theyre similar and that she takes after lestat rather than louis, and also as a way to hurt her since she knows ab her dislike for him
