I think you definitely touched more on the point I was making- it feels like from a writing perspective, they’re telling us instead of *showing* us. Like “the beast is this big horrible threat” but we haven’t really see it do anything at this point. I think it would come across more menacing if we were shown multiple times how threatening it is.

Yeah for sure, the few times we have seen the beast it's clear that it's design is insane and could easily come across as terrifying, but they just don't write it that way

I love how this season is showing both a physical side to Lydia's powers but also more of the mental side. That it's her brain that is able to do this rather that just receiving random signals. The first thing we ever learn about Lydia is how smart she is so it is cool how that fact plays into her supernatural identity in ways that it would if she had been a werewolf or someone else had become the banshee. Lydia was an incredibly impressive person so it makes sense that she would a very strong banshee. Especially as she has matured and at this point would do anything for her friends. It will be interesting for her to join the frontlines as her scream is gonna be a forced to be reckoned with

I think Theo and Tara’s situation is genuinely more murky than he’s just evil and killed his sister and felt nothing about it. The dread doctors clearly do research and spend significant time doing mental games to prep their patients as seen with Tracy. So it’s definitely not out of the question that they spent significant time grooming 9 year old Theo using the fact that they do have super natural god like powers enough so that they can evade death and even revive people, to convince him Tara wanted him to take her heart. I can blame Theo for a lot of his actions but being the target of the dread doctors and the death of Tara are very hard for me to say are Theos fault. He was a child selected and groomed for an experiment and then spent more time as the dread doctors tool than he ever was an actual normal kid. Unlike people like Kate or Peter or Gerard I don’t think it was just in Theo’s nature to be evil I think it was something he was made into for a purpose designated by the doctors and a purpose he ultimately failed to live up to in their eyes.

I think because mistletoe acts as a poison to supernaturals, clogging Lydia’s hole with it dulled her abilities to a manageable level

Tbh I don’t think even Kate or Peter were born evil. Kate was likely groomed by Gerard from a young age because she was supposed to head the family after him. And yeah Peter was manipulative even before the fire but I don’t think Talia would’ve let him get close to Derek if he was actually that bad. The fire and the coma that followed twisted him up.

I nearly threw my phone the first time I watched it thinking Lydia was dead 😭😭😭 Like no way you’re going to torture my girl for a season only to kill her off once she’s rescued

My theory is that Lydia’s predicting things that are so far in the future that they’re not set in stone. Prior to this season all her predictions of death have been when they’re fairly close (like with Allison).
