Such a great episode! Had multiple surprise moments that almost made my heart BURST but, fuck me, I just love these people so much 😂 VERY excited to see what S5 has in store for us now!

the buddie/bathena parallels in this episode have always been my favorite when bobby and athena finally talk about her attack he says, “there’s that thing people say ‘i don’t know what i’d do without you’ because losing someone you love is such an alien concept, you don’t want to imagine what it’s like.” and i was sitting in that engine thinking i was listening to you dying and i didn’t need to imagine anything. i knew what my life would feel like without you in it and it scared me.” and that’s exactly buck’s experience in this episode with eddie in the engine almost dying and of course the parallel of athena walking through literal fire to save bobby and buck crawling through gunfire to save eddie. crawling underneath a firetruck that once crushed him btw. and omg that moment with hen and karen and nia and her mom always gets me too 😭 the characters on this show really are so lovely.

(I’m going to talk about my opinion on Taylor/Buck) the things is, is that i like Taylor, i think she’s an interesting character that brings something to the show, but i would love her so much as buck’s friend, we have seen that the love characters that each buck and eddie have are always background characters, and we’ll see if it goes anywhere with the Buck/Taylor, but in my opinion, Buck having Taylor as a friend would be so funny and would make Buck question a lot of stuff since she’s a very direct person

Just realized I forgot to post this on the question time for this episode Can we just take a moment for Buck (with all his trauma having his leg crushed and being stuck under a fire engine) going under one to save Eddie. You can literally see him bracing himself to do it

Fun fact: Ryan was reportedly eating cake in between takes to make himself heavier for when Oliver had to lift him
