So , Criminal Minds is one of my all time favourite TV shows, I first watched it in 2016, after it got recommended to me and I binged the whole thing in a few months, and I am at a point now, where I have favourite episodes that I go back and watch. One of my favourite thing about the show is whilst it has a case each episode, it does a fantastic job of laying out background stuff for the full series arc. It will just drop little tid bits here and there that you don't connect until the ultimate explosion some time in the season. The show does have a structure to it, because there is only so many cases they can solve before it develops that, but for me it's the relatable characters that keep it fresh and the fact that it doesn't shy away from the darker areas of crime that some shows do. It's a brave take on a criminal show especially for the early 2000s and that doesn't go away as the seasons go on. Honestly, my least favourite seasons is s1, and that's not that it's bad, it's just for me the show just gets better with each episode, especially as each characters develop and form bonds. Garcia and Reid are my forever. Honestly, you are not READY for Reids looks if he is getting to you already :D

I do think a lot of their “absolute” talk is because that’s necessary to building the profiles. They can’t really say things like the unsub may be male or may be female and may be in their late 30s or may be any other age. So instead they very simplistically say things like “according to our profile the unsub is a male in his late 30s” because that is psychologically and statistically speaking what they most likely are.

this episode is such a good one but it’s so disturbing. i’ve never really found criminal minds scary in a horror movie kind of way but in the way of how realistic it can be like there are people out there who are actually capable of doing this.
